Selecting the Perfect Camera Bag

Everyone at one point or another will almost always find they have a need for a camera bag. Whether you have a simple point & shoot model that is compact and tiny, or a full-blown SLR camera system with dozens of lenses, there is almost always a bag that is perfect for your needs. Here comes the question of which bag do you choose?

There are several designs of large backpack style bags that are great for SLR cameras. They feature numerous pockets perfectly sized for the lenses, as well as several slots that are perfectly sized for the cameras themselves. Additional pockets are also included that are great for flashes, as well as filters and some even have a tripod pocket. If you are heavy into modifying your images on the computer, there is a selection of these bags that even have a laptop pocket in the back, which makes it so simple to take your laptop as well as camera all along in one secure, heavily padded case. This is perfect when you are trying to multi-task.

For those with the midsize range of cameras you also have a great selection of bags, these range from mini-backpacks, to a holster shape, to the standard rectangular shaped bags. The style you need for your camera partly depends upon the camera you have. Most camera bags sold now also have small pockets that are perfect for storing the memory cards that digital cameras thrive on, many also offer cell phone pockets, as well as additional small pockets that can be used to store money, credit cards, or even a wallet.

As you can see, the bags available to the family photographer are quite varied. Each individual person has the option of picking out the bag that is best suited to them, and is most comfortable to carry. Remember that while a bag that holds everything is important, you do not want the bag to be too big and heavy, or you are likely to avoid using it, thus cause equipment to risk being damaged, lost, or possibly even stolen.
