Consider What Type of Design You Want
There are various different types of wedding bouquet designs for you to choose from, so deciding on which type is right for you is the first things that you will need to do. Choosing which you not only like, but that is also suitable for the type of wedding that you will be having, is very important.
1. The hand-tied bouquet design is probably the most popular type of bouquet that is used nowadays. It is when the florist ties the flowers at their stems, often enabling you to see the stems below the point where they are held in the hands. This type of wedding bouquet is the most popular among modern weddings.
2. Another one of the most common types of wedding bouquets is the cascade bouquet, in which you will find cascading, or descending, flowers below the main bouquet. These bouquets are very formal in appearance, and thus, they are mainly only used at very formal or traditional weddings. However, since it is so formal in appearance, many people really love the way that the cascade bouquet looks.

The use geometric or unusual patterns is often utilized when designing this wedding bouquets. This type of wedding bouquet is very ideal for modern weddings, or people who want a bouquet that is new and interesting.
4. A nosegay is a less common bouquet, but it is often very beautiful when put together by the right florist. It is a small bouquet, which often only consists about half a dozen flowers. The flowers are all the same type, and there is often no greenery used in this bouquet.
5. A presentation bouquet is another very beautiful, yet less common, type of bouquet. It often only consists of flowers which are long stemmed. You will cradle this type of bouquet in your arm. It is often used for traditional, outdoor weddings.

This will give you an idea of what you like, as well as what may be suitable for the type of wedding you are having.
Decide if You Want to Go "Natural" With Your Flowers
One of the main things that you will need to decide is if you want real flowers or if you want silk flowers for your wedding bouquet. There are several things that you should consider when choosing which one is the most suitable for you.
There are other people who prefer silk flowers because real ones may end up looking wilted by the end of your day. Since silk flowers are fake, they cannot look wilted. They are also easier to preserve, although you can preserve real flowers as well. When it comes to affordability, most people find that silk flowers are the best choice for them.
However, some people believe that only real flowers are suitable enough for their bouquet, as no fake flower can give off the truly flowery scent that any real flower can. While a fake flower may look very pretty, most are not able to capture that natural beauty that most real flowers can. Ultimately, which one is right for you is all based on your own personal preferences.
Choose What Type of Flowers You Want
One of the most important things that you need to take into consideration is what type of flowers you will want to have included in your wedding bouquet. Before you can choose the actual type, it is important to decide whether you want only one type of flower or if you want more than one. This may have an affect on the type of bouquet that you decide to choose.
When choosing flowers for your wedding bouquet, one of the first things that you will probably want to take into consideration is whether or not they are flowers that will last a long time. Some of the longest lasting flowers for wedding bouquets include roses, orchids, carnations, dahlias, sweat peas, daisies and most types of lilies. Some of the flowers that you might want to avoid choosing include tulips, lilacs, gardenias, and lily of the valley, as they last the least amount of time. To learn about other types of flowers and how long they last, you should ask your florist. If one of the types of flowers that you enjoy does not last very long, you might want to consider having this flower added as a "filler" in your wedding bouquet.
Lastly, you will probably want to consider the overall appearance of the flowers, and how well suitable they will be in your wedding. You will probably want to choose flowers which do not clash with other colors that are used in the wedding. Another thing that you might want to think about is the overall theme of your wedding. For example, if you are having a very formal wedding, you will probably want to decide to use roses in your wedding bouquet. However, if you are having a Hawaiian or beach wedding theme, you might want to consider using hibiscus flowers in your wedding.
As you can see, there are many things which may be able to help you determine what wedding bouquet you are interested in. Since your bouquet is a very important part of your wedding, putting much thought into each of these factors is something that is very important for you to do.
