What is your understanding of the term 'self-esteem'? Simply, self-esteem is what you think of yourself. If you want to be a loving parent one day but behave impatiently with your children, then definitely your self-esteem is getting crushed down. It is a complicated issue, which you can only feel inside your heart.

Your self-esteem will decrease if you fail to do a particular thing, which you have planned for. Suppose you have decided to complete an essay by yesterday but you could not, your situation becomes miserable. However, self-esteem of an individual can be boosted by a clean house or a business contract. Whenever your expectations are not fulfilled, you are bound to feel bad. If you compare yourself with somebody else, you are most likely to lose self-esteem. You will find everyone else to be athletic, good looking and smarter than you. If you self-esteem is low, your performance will go down automatically. Always be confident of your abilities.

You are bound to feel lazy and restless when you self-esteem is down. You will consider yourself as the most useless person on the earth. But if your confidence is high, you will feel satisfied. More risks will be taken by you and you will create an impact on others. With an increase in self-esteem your level of confidence will rise.

There are various ways to uplift one's self-esteem. Do the most unlikely thing that is going to provide you satisfaction. You have to be honest in your effort. Try out something which you have never tried before. Once you are able to complete such task, just see how your self-esteem grows.

Never compare your own skills with someone else's. Everybody has their distinctiveness. You would never appreciate a trade of life between you and the other person. Nobody is living without a problem, so comparing between two people is not at all necessary.

Try to satisfy all your needs within the limit. Be happy with what you have achieved. Convert all your desires to preferences. You will lead a happy life if your expectations are really low. Now try to achieve those preferences and make your life happy. Promote and utilize your positive qualities and soon you will find your self-esteem has reached the sky.
