Self Marketing Your Book

Think Family and Friends First

RONYAE
I've had a supply of 500 books since February 1st, and as of April 1st I have nearly 200-and a small plus; I'm counting by boxes, so bare with me-LOL. I've found that these books have been selling well because of the many supporters I have are my family and closest friends, and many of them being out-of-state.

Of course, without having to mention that these supporters and many others were long awaiting the arrival of the book; I'd say the first scheduled arrival was around Thanksgiving 2007, so imagine the wait being until the actual arrival that was in February 2008! This would be your first step to advancing sales of your book: the First Sale-Have your closest friends, coworkers, church family and associates over for the first look and catch of the book, you know, sort of like it's introduction into the literary world. Should be exciting you think? It was for me.

You can invite them over to your house, if size is permitted; the crowd should be a small one, considering this is only a group of your closest friends and associates, including family members that live in the same state. There may be some family members who may take the trip over to show their support if they live close enough, which is even more advances to the sale of your book.

The second Step to marketing your book if you're self-publishing it, that is. But, if you're under contract with a publishing house of some sort, then your marketing may come included with the contract. Either or- like I wanted to proceed with, the next step in getting your book not only in the hands of readers and supporters alike, but making profits-which is what you generally wish to do, right? Get paid!

Take your book on a tour; A Book Tour is the Second Step to Advancing Your Book Sales: Travel to your family members and friends that live out-of-state. You'll find that this gives you so many opportunities to market your book and seeing family and friends-who can beat that; that's feeding two birds with one cracker, HA!

You'd be amazed at the number of book sales you'll achieve while on the road with your book(s); Some of the places I've traveled to was Alabama (with a sales percentage of nearly half of the box we took with us); and Chicago (where I got the chance to see my father's sisters and brother with their children, it had been nearly 20 years since I'd seen most of them and it was wonderful!)

No matter the case of how you utilize these steps; rather you take it to the highways first, then return back amongst your closest family and friends-either way is proven to help your sales-whether large or small.

I'd say these are very different tactics, but if they work ... it's all good. Thanks for commenting.

Lesley Jackson Cymraes and other names Merry Lesley Jackson, Cymraes, and lots more .A little about me A bitter old woman from wales who was born into a family of farmers, and bought up in a rural part of the Welsh Marches, in the mid ’50′. I am a phoney witch who has nothing better to do than to trawl the internet looking to cyberbully. I know there’s allot of talk about being Granny taught within certain, er, fluffy circles online, but I’m one of the rare bunch who really were… well not quite- i wrote it for attention and drew a proposed publishing contract form Andborough Publishing from the owner Pamela Anders Yarborough. So if you want to get published or draw attention to yourself just lie, cheat, cyberbully and voila!! I know… this is the route I follow, building on the basis of his teachings and formulating my own victims which i choose carefully. During the interim i stalk and post but hey lying has paid off.Publishing contract for what?
