In order to sell an item on Craiglist, first visit http://www.craigslist.com or http://www.craigslist.org
You will now see a long list of states within the United States (As well as places in other countries). Choose the state you live in and click on it.
A list of cities near you will show up on the screen. From this list, choose the city nearest to your home. You can optionally recommend a city.
You will now be on the Craiglist nearest to your home.
To post on Craigslist you can either click on the category under the header "For Sale" which most closely matches the item you wish to sell.
In the upperhand right corner of the page, there is a link named "post". Click on this link to post your item.
Now, you can choose the same category you chose earlier amongst the links provided. Click on this category.
You will now arrive at a page which lists a place to insert the Title, Price, Specific Location (somewhere in your general area), Posting Description and Email Address. Fill in the information requested, typing in your email address in both the "Your Email Address" and "Type Email Address Again" boxes.
Adding Picture
I recommend adding a photo of the item you wish to sell. Remembering, "A picture is worth a thousand words." Click on the "Add/Edit Images" button directly below the words "do not show any email address". You may have to scroll down the page to see the button. Now browse for the photo of the item you wish to sell within your computer files. Click on the picture you wish to add and then the "Open" button. Next click on the Continue Button.
PreviewYour Craigslist Post
You will see a preview of your ad. Click the "Continue" button again (or the "Edit" button if you wish to make revisions)
Accept the Terms of Use
On the next page you will need to read through and accept the terms of use in order to post your item for sale on Craigslist.
Capticha
You will now need to type in a copy of the Capticha in order to ensure you are an actual user and not a bot. Craigslist doesn't want any robots posting automatic information on their pages. If you cannot read the capticha well enough to copy it, you have the option of listening to the words provided or refreshing the page to get a new capticha.
You will now need to check your email box to find the link to the item you wish to publish. You will need to click on the link within the email to publish your posting. Until you click on this link, your item will not be listed on Craigslist. Once you click on the link, there will be a button on the website called "Publish". Click on the Publish button and your item will now be listed for sale.
Fraud on Craigslist
Craigslist has had many people fraud other users. Therefore it is important to read craigslists warnings and follow their recommendations to avoid fraud very closely.
Contacting You
Now people will begin to contact you and you can meet at an agreed upon location in order to exchange your item for money. It is an easy and quick process to sell on Craigslist.
