Selling Textbooks, 5 Ways to Get the Most Money Back

Selling Your Textbooks

1. Care Taker- Always remember that you are the caretaker of your books and you need to take care of them from the time that you buy them to the time you put them in the mail after selling them. Every book has couple scratches or creases but just remember that the better shape your textbook is in when going to sell it, the more money you will make.

2. Half.com- One of the greatest sites I have come across when it come to selling your textbooks. Half works much in part like Ebay (Half.com is a sister company of Ebay) except the great thing is that there are no listing fees. You can put a textbook up for sale at any price you would like to compete against other sellers like yourself. Though there are no listing fees Half does take a small percentage of your earnings but it is well worth the trouble.

3. Barnes and Noble.com- Another great tool when selling your textbooks you can either sell them yourself or straight to the website itself. Unless you need cash quick try selling your books yourself to buyers around the world.

4. Your Campus Bookstore- Though many times the campus bookstore will give you about fifty cents to fifteen bucks for your textbook they sometimes will buy back your used textbooks for more then you could ever sell it on your own. Make sure you check to see what your bookstore is offering before you go out and sell it yourself.

5. Friends- If you have a friend who is taking the same class as you are next semester or the semester after that, sell it to them. If none of your friends are taking that course post up some flyers around your campus with your name, email address, book you are selling, and the price you are selling it for. There are always students who would rather buy it right on campus instead of having to go through the trouble of buying it online or at the campus book store.

You've made some great suggestions. I would recommend Chegg to sell texts for the highest prices. I also rent texts from them every semester. Here is a code for an extra $5 back when selling Chegg your texts. The code also gives a discount when renting texts from them. Put in the code and hit the "apply" button.

The code does not have an expiration date so it can be used with every order. Here it is: CC123047

Feel free to share the code with friends.
