Senate Reaches a Deal on Illegal Immigration
The agreement does not only do one thing, it takes multiple measures on the illegal immigration problem. First, amnesty is granted to the 12+ million illegal immigrants in the United States. Then, according to the Associated Press, the "point system" comes into play, which prioritizes illegal immigrants' education and skill-levels, which connects them on how to obtain a green card.
The Associated Press elaborates more about the details associated with the new agreement. Also put in place a new card/visa, known as a "Z visa". When obtaining a "Z visa", the illegal immigrant trying to obtain it must pay a $5,000 fine and return to their home countries. After they do this, they are quickly on track to legal residency which essentially can take up to 13 years. Coming forward immediately would allow the illegal immigrants to obtain a probationary card. This probationary card allows the illegal immigrants to reside and work in the United States. However, in doing this the illegal immigrants cannot start on their road to legal residency until there are more border security improvements, and more technologically advanced methods of identifying workers.
But even with this solution at hand, there is still one problem. With a $5,000 fine and temporary deportation to their home countries, many illegal immigrants will most likely not even bother gaining legal residency. With so many illegal immigrants in the United States there are bound to be many that have the mentality of thinking they won't be caught.
Another problem is the current legal residents of the United States may not be happy with this solution. Amnesty to 'criminals' doesn't seem very justified to many people. Some legal United States residents are looking for mass-deportation. But any respected democratic country would definitely not do that as it looks shameful, and it makes us look bad to the rest of our country. Some legal United States residents are even taking it upon themselves to watch the borders. Such people include the Minutemen. You can find at article about the the Minutemen and what they do here.
Will this method of a "point-system" and quick amnesty to millions of illegal immigrants be a Godsend? Or will this solution create riots on the streets since they are here illegally after all. Look for more information about this solution in future articles.

Post a CommentGranting amnesty just tells people they can bypass the law and many more will come. It amazes me that elected officials are blind to the fact that illegals running the ports in LA is not a good thing. Mexico and China have good economic diplomatic relations. The La Razas demand we give them back the land "we stole from them". They are not shy about spatting their hatred of "everything Americano", but hey, we love 'em anyway. Imagine us going to Mexico and demanding they make English their National Language.
I know many will say I am being overly dramatic, but I am cursed with being far-sighted. I don't want to see this country go through another Civil War. I don't want to see anyone get hurt. I don't want to see Americans lose their country either. It's scary. These idiots in Washington need to stop and really think about what they are doing. There are a lot of consequences to their actions.
Money and votes, Andrew. According to some sources, if this amnesty is granted, there could be an increase of 20 to 30 million immigrants in the next ten years. Most of these immigrants would be Democrats... this would effectively destroy the Republican party and could possibly create a one party system country. I know there are some Americans who will not stand by and let that happen and the blood that might flow would drown this country. I will admit to being terrified of what might happen if this deal is approved and implemented. This country is already divided and the animosity and tension between sides has risen to a crescendo... it would only take a spark to ignite a terrible fire that could destroy the entire nation.
I know how to feel Chaotic. The town I currently live in is obviously overrun by illegal immigrants. I know some of these Mexicans here are legal. But there has been an obvious outburst in some portions of the town, and it's obvious too. I feel like the government doesn't care about us, they just want to bring in more tax money for themselves. Money truly governs everything.
I am astounded by the short-sightedness and stupidity of the people involved in this deal. When did the President and Congress stop looking out for the American people? When did foreigners and illegal immigrants become more important than Americans? If this Immigration Reform passes, it will completely change the face of the United States and destroy our country. It may even begin another Civil War. But hey, who cares as long as criminals get their way... I'm completely disgusted with everyone involved in this deal.
