Senator Barack Obama Wins Democratic Iowa Caucus

On Thursday January 3, Illinois Senator Barack Obama was declared the winner of the Democratic Iowa caucus by MSNBC, receiving 35% of the vote. Senator Hillary Clinton and Senator John Edwards received 31% of the vote. On CNN, political analysts had decided the state was too close to call. Alomst 70% of the vote had been decided already.

The win for Obama fares well for his campaign as it will greatly help him campaign in New Hampshire as the front runner. THe New Hampshire campaign will be January 9.

    Actually, Barack Obama won the Iowa caucus with 38% of the vote while John Edwards came in second with 30% and Hillary Clinton came in third with 29% making for a significant lead and a strong win for the first caucus of the season.
