Senator Feinstein Writes Letter to Constituent

Okay, I have seen everything now. Idiotic ideologues are running the country, many of the most prominent ones being from California.

Constituent's challenge
A constituent wrote a letter to Dianne Feinstein, U.S. Senator (D, California), challenging her down vote on the Murkowski disapproval resolution.

U.S. Senator, Lisa Murkowski (R, Arkansas), disapproved of the EPA trying to regulate greenhouse gases under the Clean Air Act. (There's a singular show of intelligence in the Senate right there.) The Murkowski resolution was voted down by Feinstein and every senator on the left side of the aisle.

Dianne Feinstein wrote a letter in reply to the constituent.

Legislator's letter
Feinstein's letter was so full of empty rhetoric from the left-wing ideologic empire that I couldn't believe how well it said nothing. Here's an excerpt.

"Dear [constituent]: Thank you for writing to express your opposition to the EPA's finding that greenhouse gases endanger public health and welfare and to share your support for efforts to prevent the EPA from regulating those emissions under the Clean Air Act. I appreciate hearing your thoughts on this issue, and I welcome the opportunity to respond.

I appreciate hearing your concern that the endangerment finding will lead to the regulation of greenhouse gases under the Clean Air Act. I opposed the Murkowski resolution of disapproval. While I believe that amending the Clean Air Act to clarify that EPA may regulate the largest greenhouse gas emitters under a cap and trade system would be more effective and less expensive than regulating these sources under certain command and control sections of the Clean Air Act, Congress must ensure that the EPA has tools to reduce emissions ."

Yada, yada, yada. If that's not saying what everybody already knows, I don't know what does. Or if anybody in the Senate knows either!

False sincerity
What strikes me as gratuitous in Feinstein's letter also are words expressing great opportunity to respond and appreciation on hearing concerns. Yeah, right! Such politeness accompanies no substantive response.

But notice the opportune moment to reiterate ideology: "Greenhouse gases endanger public health and welfare." So says the EPA, that learned government agency, in stark opposition to real scientists not paid to say otherwise.

And nobody but nobody asked the plants, who would tell you--if they could talk-how good they grow good food for people with a little more CO₂ in the air. But here's Feinstein, blabbing the mantra of a Utopian fable that government agencies will save you from everything, including the stuff that has beneficial effects.

Political mantra reiterated
In the next paragraph is a plug for a "cap and trade system," giving government carte blanche to tax energy out of affordability and to institute trade in carbon, a substance nobody wants. Such measures will redistribute income from the people who earn it-like me and you-to fat-cat traders in Silicon Valley making deals with the government.

Feinstein's letter goes on to say, "In my view, there is convincing scientific evidence that climate change is happening." Her view doesn't go far when listening to government scientists being paid to report the desired effects, ones in keeping with a warming world. Too bad the world isn't warming at all, but getting colder as we speak in the incredible cold and snow of recent winters.

All natural
Nature isn't cooperating with the political agenda nor supporting the idea that manmade activities affect climate. To say that climate is changing is stating the obvious. It always has and always will, no matter what people or politicians say or do. For Feinstein to say that scientific evidence says climate change is happening is just some more stupid rhetoric. And makes Feinstein look as if she lives with a fish bowl over her head. And thinks the rest of us do too.

The fact is that the earth has not warmed for the last 10 to 15 years. The warmest period in the last 100 years in the U.S. and the Arctic was actually in the 1930s.

Ignorance is ignorance, not bliss
But alas, Feinstein is the people's choice for Senator from California . THAT's what makes me worry.
