Senator McCain Fearlessly Leads Out in All Sorts of Ways

John McCain is heralded as a genuine leader, a genuine caring and compassionate man, a war hero - remember this man chose to stay in hell with his comrades, rather than leave for comfort, when comfort was his to have! Gut's doesn't seem adequate to describe this hero - and today Senator McCain visits Shorja market in central Baghdad, Iraq - a place where none of us wants to be. He is genuine, he is caring, he is compassionate, and he isn't afraid of hellish circumstances- yes he has guts, but guts isn't enough, he's gonna need something else, which is what this article reflects.

While some of them are about as interesting as breakfast cereal, we still have to ask ourselves, which one of these has the "Oh yes, that will work for certain, and we know you are going to do it," approach to our difficult areas in our country? Wow, that didn't take you long. Yes, they don't have it yet, do they? Yet we are going to let them get away with it again, we're going to give them millions of dollars to prove to us that they can be placating to our common fears and divisions. It's what they do best, right versus left, Democrat versus Republican, the tune stays the same, and is enriched; when they bring in color, religion and sex. They who are supposed to represent our best and highest choose to teach us to look into the future with blinders on. Until we come to this very interesting but unfortunately elderly gentleman and war hero-, there the blinders come off- and the light disturbs us more than just a bit.

Some savvy political advisors believe that the Clinton slick will sale past the American mind and into their wallets once again, that a repeat of the brilliant marketing campaign for her husband will once again bring her to the White House. But others who see the race with more substance than she has thus far provided, see a different tune being played - they hear moderation from Mr. Obama, they also hear contention for that moderate throne from a very respected Thompson. Yet none of the political analysts can get past the fact that Senator McCain, war hero, honorable man, and leader- sticks out like a thumb smacked with a hammer by a lad refusing to cry out- who says ""I will finish the job!" Some are very skeptical of the Senator because of his age, but they need to be reminded, 71 years old chronologically in our medical times, is biologically very much younger. "Yes," they fight back, "but he's had cancer," to which again we must remind them, cancer is in many instances survivable, treatable, and does not negate a person's ability to lead (Emphasis therein on leading!). This then is the something else that we find in John McCain, not only seeing the job through, but leading in the midst of the most dramatic challenges that a person can face, death, each and every time- we need to examine this man and consider his record and his courage, he can lead us- and he has the something else- he has faced the final foe more than once, we all feat that foe, and John McCain has overcome that foe- he has the something else called being a leader.
