Let us first consider that he had the American flag removed from his jet to be replaced with his campaign seal, and yet he insists that he is not campaigning overseas. Now WHY, considering that he is the presumptive Democratic Presidential Nominee - who claims NOT to be campaigning overseas - would he want to remove the symbol of our nation, the American flag, from his plane? Why would he prefer to replace the flag with his campaign seal rather than show his patriotism by displaying our nation's symbol? This, in turn, reminds voters of how his campaign altered the Presidential seal to be used in his campaign and the uncertainties this action caused.
Looking further into Senator Obama's statement that he "is a Citizen of the World" rather than an American citizen, voters are forced to wonder if he is ashamed to admit to being an American citizen. If he is really not campaigning overseas, then maybe that is why he had the flag removed from his plane? It does make one wonder. Considering that he is asking the American people to elect him as their Commander in Chief - President of the United States of AMERICA, not President of the World - more Americans should question these facts. This issue also reminds voters that he did not place his hand over his heart or salute the American flag during the Pledge of Allegiance - again renewing doubts about this Presidential candidate.
It would also be worth questioning why his campaign had to be reminded by the Press, not once but twice, that Senator Obama is NOT the President yet. Perhaps the power is already going to his head! And why would a Presidential candidate that is willing to travel to a war zone not be willing to take the time to visit the injured troops who fought there? These troops are defending the freedoms that all Americans, Senator Obama included, enjoy on a daily basis. How is this showing patriotism to his home nation?
And at the same time that Senator Obama is being a "Citizen of the World" and (not) campaigning overseas, he is also the elected Senator of Illinois - and Congress IS still in session. As an acting Senator, it is his elected job to vote on the important issues facing our nation, such as the housing crisis - NOT play hooky overseas. Is this the sort of responsibility we can expect from Senator Obama if elected President? If so, Hillary is looking better and better!
Another thing to consider about Senator Obama as a Presidential candidate is that his entire campaign has been based on a "Different Kind of Politics" and "Change". He says that he is a different sort of politician, and is offering our nation true change in our government, but what sort of change is he planning on bringing? Is this the REAL truth about Senator Obama? Let us consider for a moment the Second Amendment and the right to bear arms. This amendment has nothing to do with hunting and everything to do with gun control. Senator Obama claims to support the Second Amendment rights and the right to bear arms, but his voting record says different. He consistently voted for gun control and against the Second Amendment right to bear arms. This sounds more like a typical political ploy of telling the voters what they want to hear, saying one thing and then doing another, than it does change. Now how can Obama claim to be a different sort of Politician when he is already offering more of the same old rhetoric?
During this Primary and Campaign season, Senator Obama has repeatedly stated that he believes in core American and Christian values. How then can he be so strongly for abortion? Does human life mean so little to him? Senator Obama has also stated his desire to repeal the Defense of Marriage Act. These issues force voters to consider what sort of core American values he really believes in.
Though it may not have been his intention, Senator Obama's overseas trip may well have done more harm than good to his Presidential bid. Many Americans already had serious doubts about him, and this trip will doubtlessly raise concerns for many more.
