Send Cookies the Easy Way

Avoid the Cookie Crumbles

Angela Kimball
Cookies always make a great gift. Everyone loves to snack on their favorite cookies. If you like to send your loved ones cookies, then here is a great idea for you.

The next time you think of shipping those holiday treats, Valentine's Day cookies, or your blue ribbon baked goods, think outside the box. Frequently, when it comes to sending cookies across town or overseas, the cookies somehow wind up in a box covered with a shipping label. Even for those cookies shipped inside of a sturdy, metal cookie tin, it seems the baked goods always arrive in crumbs or numerous broken pieces.

Although pieces of cookie tastes just as good as a whole one, this doesn't present the goodies in the way you would prefer. After your heartfelt effort to bake the best cookies, you don't want them to greet your loved ones all broken and disorganized.

Instead of packing your cookies in a cookie tin or Ziploc baggies, try something new. Ship the cookies stacked together in a nice, organized way to prevent crumbling during shipping and handling. You don't need expensive Tupperware containers designed specifically for the shipment of cookies. All you will need is a Pringles container.

The next time you purchase Pringles from Wal-Mart for about $1, you can enjoy those tasty potato crisps and have a cookie container, too. The Pringles can is just the right size to store cookies during shipment.

Wash out the Pringles can before putting your cookies inside for mailing. Remember to always place cookies that are completely cooled inside of the can. Warm cookies will only keep moisture inside the airtight container.

If the outside of the Pringles can does not sport your ideal sentiments, then decorate it to suit the occasion. Recycling old Pringles containers can be fun and easy. Cover the outside of the can with festive wrapping paper with hearts for Valentine's Day or Santa for Christmas.

A piece of construction paper also works well to cover the outside of the Pringles can. Use the favorite color of your loved ones to decorate the Pringles can, then write personalized notes on it. This is a handy, new way to ship your cookies.

Whether you make your homemade cookies from scratch, or prefer the slice and bake variety, your delicious cookies will arrive in one piece using this method. The best part is that this idea encourages recycling, is inexpensive, and looks great. Shipping homemade cookies has never been easier.
