Senior Sex: Does Grandpa Have Herpes?

Reuters Reveals STDs Numbers Swelling for Seniors

Senior sex: Why is Grandpa always scratching his junk?

According to Reuters June 23rd, 2010 swinging senior citizens (those over the age of 45) are at a higher risk of catching an STD, than prostitutes. A Dutch study from 2007 and 2008 reveals a combination of getting-it-on, and stupidity, are to blame. There goes Thursdays.

Senior sex: Safe sex still doesn't exist.

The crux of the matter is older folks are less likely to use reasonable precautions while partying since the risk of pregnancy is diminished. But, those little spermatozoa aren't the only mono-cellular biological life forms needed to be considered. Bacteria, viruses, molds, mildews, spunk, and funk still rest in all of those wonderful nooks and crannies. While it's true that old farts might not need protection for her sake, they might want to consider it for his. So guys, wrap that rascal! (and Ladies...you're nearly an antique...speak up!)

Senior sex: Everything you ever need to know you learned in high school.

A separate, unrelated report from Reuters July 6th, 2010 indicates that doctors are now being advised to discuss safe sex with male patients, before prescribing Viagra® (sildenafil citrate). (Finally, something from Big Pharma that will work - wisdom. Will they try to patent it and place it under FDA control, too?)

The concern that's most on the rise for elder sex isn't even so much the existence of STD's in the local meat markets. It's the types of diseases going around. The same report indicates that, HIV is the number one most frequently diagnosed infection, then chlamydia, syphilis, and gonorrhea. My goodness! Will sex ever just be fun with no strings attached? Seems not.

Senior sex: Is Viagra ® (sildenafil citrate) to blame?

Apparently not. Not necessarily, anyway. Reuters July 6th, 2010 also goes on to report that numbers of men treated for STD the year before they actually got the drug, dropped in count, after acquiring it. With these results, researchers are ruling out the little blue pill being causative.
