Seniors: Best Hair Coloring Tips

Coloring Gray Can Be Tricky

Malina Debrie
America places too much impact on youth and beauty. As we age we tend to get caught up in losing the features of our youth. However, if you maintain your confidence and keep working to improve, you will learn to be positive about your age and not negative. Whenever I start thinking of my age in the negative, I begin to remember what my mother said. She said, "Age is about life and living. The longer we live, the more we learn and understand the blessing in aging."

The number one best tip when considering adding color to your hair is to forget about adding color if your gray is beautiful. Gray hair is gorgeous when care is taken to maintain it correctly. In fact, women are now enjoying those full heads of silver and white gray hair. Just take a look at a few of these gorgeous women with completely gray hair:

Meryl Streep - In one of her most recent movies, she is dynamic and powerful and with the color of her hair, the impact of her aggressive persona is even more profound. Click here for a picture of Ms Streep with a beautiful all-gray mane. Then there are thousands of others who have realized the glamor of a full head of gray hair. However, if you feel the gray is not appealing, before you end up with a head full of hair that is more taupe than gray; remember the final effect obtained is still based on the health of your hair. As we grow older, it's obvious and we do tend to see our lives in our faces. Our hair begins to lose its sheen, firmness and fullness of years past. We begin to gradually see the black, red, brown strands turn white. We begin to see fullness change to thin.

There are numerous tricks and tips to enhance the hair, disguise the gray and add to the fullness of your hair. There are also many makeup tips you can use to make your complexion glow which will enhance the look of your hair naturally. Follow a few of the tips here and in no time, you will begin to see a difference in your hair and complexion. You may even see heads turning again as they notice you and relish in your beauty.

Use Volumizing Shampoos and Conditioners

To maximize the beauty of your hair, use volumizing shampoos and conditions. You hair has to be healthy before you should take the chance to use chemicals. Dyes are chemicals that will deplete the hair of nutrients. Nutrients are important in healthy hair and a successful coloring job. The more I look at the new products and items available, the more I become impressed with the wonders of science. Visit one of the Hair Care Supply stores and look around. There are hundreds of new products available that will add volume to your hair without causing damage. If your hair is thin, try using a natural product. It may cost a few dollars before you can find just the right product for your hair, but it is well worth it. Sometimes store representatives may know the perfect product for your hair. If not, go on line and research. Some websites like WebMd.com and Medicalclinic.com offer information that will help when working to regain volume to your hair.

Tips to Reverse Aging: Take Vitamins For the Hair (Feed and Nourish Your Hair)

Vitamin B nourishes and strengthens hair follicles helping to prevent hair loss. Even when genetics is involved, vitamin B is a defense to help prevent balding and thinning hair. Eat foods rich in vitamin B such as carrots, peas, beans, cauliflower, bran, nuts and fish. Add fish for increased nourishment. Add a salmon salad (click here for a great recipe) to your diet daily. Not only does Omega 3 Fatty Oil add vitamin B, it also helps to increase the texture and adds a healthy shine to your hair.

When all else fails and you continue to fall short in reaching the results desired, remember gray is stylish, chic and it is in. Women today embrace their age and work to continue growing no matter what stage of life they are in. Take a further look at some of the most glamorous females sporting full gray manes here.
