SEO: Get Free Inbound Links to Your Website

It seems simple yes? Get some links in to your website and the indexing and ranking of your site will improve with the search engines.

Broadly speaking this is true but the better the site that links to you also has an effect on the search engines perception of your site together with your content and site structure.

This is a huge and complex subject but, for now in this article, I will simply highlight a couple of places where free links are available to virtually all websites (excluding questionable content).
