Sephora Brand Brilliant Shine Lipgloss Review

A Lipgloss with Good Pigmentation

Alexis Valentine
Sephora is a store that sells all sorts of beauty and makeup products, mostly trendy and high end brands. You won't be finding in drug store brands like CoverGirl, Almay or even Neutrogena here. I'm not really a makeup person, despite how many reviews I've written on the topic, but every now and then I stop in to see what's out there, what's popular and try out some products. Although I wear very little makeup I am a fan of mascara and lip glosses because these items focuses on my best features, my eyes and lips. Recently I was given a free set of lip glosses from Sephora's own line as a birthday gift, and here's what I thought of it.

What I liked about Sephora brand's Brilliant Shine lipglosses was that it came in many colors. I only got three but there were just too many colors for me to try and count them all. I really liked the thick consistency of the gloss because I didn't have to put much on to get the color. I also liked the scent, they all pretty much smell the same but it's a very light sweet scent. There's no taste to it either cosmetic or candy-like. I was surprised that it wasn't that sticky considering how thick the lipgloss was. What I also liked about Sephora brand's Brilliant Shine lipglosses was that it was moisturizing and had good staying power. Now, it's still a lipgloss so it doesn't stay on like a lipstick, but I found it to last much longer than any lipgloss I've ever tried. The pigmentation is really good too. The color goes on the same shade that it looks on the tube. Another great thing about this lipgloss is that $1 of a every sale goes to the Forever Pink Breast Cancer Research foundation. So you can treat yourself and donate money to a good cause at the same time.

The only downside to this lipgloss was that it's fairly pricey for being what it is. Sephora brand's Brilliant Shine lipgloss are $10 each, that's more than most drugstore lipsticks. Another thing that I didn't like about this product was that it was a squeeze tube. I'm not a fan of squeeze tube lipglosses because they tend to be messy and not precise. I also felt like a teeny bopper using a squeeze tube lipgloss.

Overall, Sephora brand's Brilliant Shine lipglosses were a great product. I probably wouldn't buy them for myself though considering the price, maybe if they went on sale for around $5. I'm not being cheap but a lipgloss is a lipgloss, and $10 just isn't worth it in my opinion.
