Sephora Prisma Chrome Eyeshadow Has Many Promises, but Does it Deliver?

A Makeup Product Review

Sarah Afshar

Sephora is known for coming out with new products. No matter what time of year, they are always coming out with products that cater to a variety of demographics. One of those products is definitely a color cosmetic called the Prisma Chrome eyeshadow.

It is a limited edition eyeshadow that was recently introduced by Sephora. It guarantees a pigmented, yet luminous color that produces a color payoff and shine. It also is designed with a luxurious texture, making it one of the newest Sephora must-haves. If you can imagine morphing baked powder and cream eyeshadow finishes into one product, this would definitely be that product.

Recently when shopping at Sephora.com, I bought this eyeshadow and have since used it.

PROS

This eyeshadow is luminous yet pigmented. The color payoff that is produced is incredible because it is visible. I noticed that when I applied it, I instantly saw the results I was expecting. You can also build color, which I like.

If you are searching for long-lasting products, you are going to appreciate this one. I don't know if it has anything to do with the texture, but I noticed that even when I didn't apply this eyeshadow with a priming product, it lasted relatively long. Very impressive.

Sephora offers a total of 10 Prisma Chrome eyeshadow shades. Moon Beam 05 (which is an opal beige with a pink undertone), Shimmery Sand 10 (which is a stunning pale gold with a beige tone), Bronze Brilliance 15 (an intense, yet subtle copper), Gold Reflection 20 (a very vibrant yet bright yellow gold), Emerald Facet 25 (a beautiful teal shade with a gold undertone), Sapphire Shine 30 (a bright royal blue), Moon Glow 35 (which is a beautiful silver with grey reflects), Purple Prisma 40 (a faint pale purple with a neutral undertone), Burgundy Gem 45 (which is an intense dark plum) and Black Diamond 50 (a beautiful black pearl). I love the fact that Sephora offers an array of colors rather than just a few. That is definitely a positive point.

Blends very easily.

The Prisma Chrome eyeshadow is free of parabens.

CONS

The Prisma Chrome eyeshadow is very pigmented, but the colors are not dramatic. All of the finishes in this product that represent the individual colors have a shimmery finish to them too, so if you are searching for a matte finish, you are not going to want to choose this eyeshadow.

Despite being free of parabens, the Prisma Chrome eyeshadow has synthetics. It is not fully "natural," let alone "organic." If you are one who uses just natural or organic, you may not appreciate this eyeshadow.

RATING - 90 %

Overall, I have to admit that I was sublimely impressed. You can purchase Sephora's Prisma Chrome eyeshadow for $15 at your nearest Sephora or on the official website, Sephora.com. Would I recommend this eyeshadow to a friend? Yes, I would - whether you are an eyeshadow enthusiast or simply looking for a nice, high-end eyeshadow for under $20. Is it worth the price tag? I think so. Would I purchase this eyeshadow again? Most definitely. This product is "Limited Edition" so once it is gone, it is gone. The time is now to get it today.
