Sephora Ultimate Blockbuster is a Great Women's Gift for Holiday 2009

Allison West
A few weeks ago, I opened the November 2009 issue of Glamour magazine, saw an advertisement for the Sephora Ultimate Blockbuster 2009, and I was mesmerized! The ad showed a beautiful looking makeup case filled with squares of tempting eye shadows, lip glosses, blushers and some pencils. I hadn't shopped at Sephora.com in a while, but since I was in the market to try some new makeup, I thought I would order this Sephora Ultimate Blockbuster 2009 and give it a try (and I'm so glad I did!)

Sephora Ultimate Blockbuster 2009 is Perfect for Holiday 2009

I wanted to buy Sephora Ultimate Blockbuster 2009, but I don't live near a Sephora store, so I ended up purchasing this makeup palette online at Sephora.com. Sephora Ultimate Blockbuster 2009 is a makeup kit that looks a bit like a small train case. This makeup case features small trays of makeup products that lift out to form three separate tiers of eye colors, lip glosses, blushers and more.

Purchasing the Sephora Ultimate Blockbuster 2009 at Sephora.com was quick and easy, and I received quite a generous amount of free product samples with my order. I also ordered another product at Sephora.com as well as the Sephora Ultimate Blockbuster 2009, and my order total was over $50, so I received free UPS shipping too, which I really appreciated.

When I received my Sephora Ultimate Blockbuster 2009 at home, I was amazed at all the different products that were in this stunning makeup palette. The Sephora Ultimate Blockbuster 2009 has a mirror in the lid of the box, and when I opened it up, the first thing I noticed was the eye catching trays of eye shadows. The quality of this eye makeup and the range of colors simply can't be beat. There are matte and sparkly eye shadows in the Sephora Ultimate Blockbuster 2009, and this kit offers subdued colors and some more dramatic hues (there's literally something for everybody!)

I had a bit of trouble figuring out how to access the other makeup in the Sephora Ultimate Blockbuster 2009, but after a bit of probing, I was able to slide it apart to reveal the trays of lip glosses, and again I was bowled over by the range of lip colors in this palette. I've been having a ball trying out all the lip and eye colors in the Sephora Ultimate Blockbuster 2009, and find the Sephora makeup line to be of a very high quality and quite fashionable.

The Sephora Ultimate Blockbuster 2009 makeup palette this year contains 84 eye shadows, 60 lip glosses, 3 blushes, 5 different liner pencils, 6 cream eye liners and this kit is bigger and better than ever. This is my first year purchasing this fabulous makeup kit, so I can't compare it to other years, but I do know that it's certainly enough makeup to hold me until Sephora creates next year's palette!

Sephora Ultimate Blockbuster 2009: My Experience

I have a few minor criticisms of the Sephora Ultimate Blockbuster 2009. First, the Sephora Ultimate Blockbuster 2009 actually looks smaller in person than it does in the splashy magazine ads like the one I saw in Glamour. I measured my Sephora Ultimate Blockbuster 2009 kit and it's a rectangular black plastic makeup case that is approximately 11 inches long, 5.5 inches wide and 1.5 inches deep. The little squares of eye shadows and lip glosses measure about the size of my thumbnail. I wasn't disappointed at all with my purchase of the Sephora Ultimate Blockbuster 2009 kit; however, ads for the product make the case itself and the size of the shadows and glosses look bigger.

Also, the lip and eye pencils included in the Sephora Ultimate Blockbuster 2009 are about as long as my thumb, too, and ads for this kit do make the pencils look more full sized. I also noticed that the applicators that came with the Sephora Ultimate Blockbuster 2009 aren't of the greatest quality, and in my opinion, there aren't really enough applicators to apply the various kinds of makeup provided. This can easily be remedied by picking up some inexpensive applicators at the drugstore to use with your Sephora Ultimate Blockbuster 2009.

Finally, I felt that the Sephora Ultimate Blockbuster 2009 case was a little fragile and hard to work with. The trays that hold the makeup are of a thinner plastic and I had to be careful not to break them while opening up the tiered trays to work with this kit. I feel that Sephora Ultimate Blockbuster 2009 would be easier to work with if the trays could lift out separately by type, so I could reach for an eye shadow tray or lip gloss tray.

The other day I felt like playing with some glosses in my Sephora Ultimate Blockbuster 2009, but I was on my way out the door and didn't feel like opening up the whole Sephora Ultimate Blockbuster 2009 and sliding the fragile trays apart just to get at the fabulous variety of lip glosses.

If you purchase the Sephora Ultimate Blockbuster 2009, I recommend setting it up on a vanity where you'll have space to open the kit up and really work with the products. According to Sephora, there is $400 worth of products in this $48 kit. Sephora also claims you can create over 60,000 looks with this Sephora Ultimate Blockbuster 2009, and I believe them! I also love the fact that Sephora.com gives free shipping on orders over $50, free returns, and a nice range of free samples with orders (and you can join their Beauty Insider club for free, to receive even more free samples on future orders at Sephora!)

All in all, I was quite thrilled with my Sephora Ultimate Blockbuster 2009. The product is quite dazzling, and it's opened me up to a whole range of fantastic beauty products. If you know a woman who is interested in changing her look and trying some new beauty products, or there's a lady on your shopping list who's wild about makeup, I think the Sephora Ultimate Blockbuster 2009 would make a fantastic holiday gift. This Sephora limited edition is sure to sell out early, so treat yourself or a special woman to the Sephora Ultimate Blockbuster 2009 this year.

This sounds like a good deal. Now if I could just find a good deal on a wrinkle-plumping moisturizer-- instead of paying $48 just for it! Good article.
