High Blood Pressure
According to the American Heart Association (AHA), www.americanheart.org. Nose bleeds can be a sign of high blood pressure problem. They can occur when one's blood pressure rises abnormally high. If ones nose starts bleeding, immediately have your blood pressure taken. According to the AHA nose bleeds occur when the blood pressure reading is 180/110 mm Hg or more. If one's reading is at least this amount seek medical help immediately before a stroke can occur.
Heart Failure
A nose bleed can be a sign of potential heart failure, as stated by the American Heart Association. For some people before experiencing heart failure they may have nose bleeds a few days or even hours before hand.
Deficiency In Vitamin C
Sometimes a nose bleed can be a sign of a vitamin c deficiency. An adequate amount of vitamin c in the body strengthens the capillary vessels in the body. When capillary vessels are weak, however, they bleed and the body bruises easily. As a result of having weak capillary vessels a person can experience chronic nose bleeds.
Deficiency In Vitamin K
Vitamin K is needed for coagulation, which is the process of normal blood thickening. When a person lacks vitamin K nose bleeds can occur.
Nose bleed Prevention
If a person experiences nose bleeds, try preventing them by doing the following:
On a daily basis take vitamin c supplements, and eat fruit and vegetables containing vitamin c, such as citrus fruit, tomatoes, grapes, berries, potatoes, spinach, squash, carrots, kale, corn, and cucumber.
On a daily basis take vitamin k supplements and eat food that contain vitamin k, like cashew nuts and hazelnuts.
Monitor your blood pressure, by reducing your daily intake of salt, eat more fruits and vegetables, and test your blood pressure regularly.
Maintain a healthy heart by eating a low cholesterol diet, and take magnesium supplement.
A nose bleed can be the sign of a serious developing health problem. After experiencing a nose bleed immediately make an appointment to see a doctor.
