Sesame Street's Muppet, Elmo, Encourages and Inspires Children to Eat Healthy Food

Elmo is 3 Years Old and He's that Happy and Carefree Muppet from Sesame Street

Rue Cooper
The red furry character, Elmo, has always had the best interests of children in mind, when he has encouraged them to laugh, giggle and have fun and to dance, sing and exercise for a strong body. Now, there is more as he is sharing his healthy eating ideas and inspiring the world's children to eat foods that power the body and build the brain - and he is bringing in some help.

Elmo's "super-foods" muppets!

Four new muppets are joining Elmo, on Sesame Street, for some new and better ideas in getting kids to eat healthy. The new muppets sing and dance to educate, along with a happy message about nutritious energy foods. Among the healthy garden snackers, the anytime foods are: banana, broccoli, and whole grains.

Malnutrition?

According to Huffington Post, more than half of the 17 million regularly hungry children in America are under 6. This is a crucial body and brain-building time for early childhood - and malnutrition has a definite and long-lasting impact on daily health and learning achievements.

The drug store or the dinner plate?

If a child is having problems in school such as overactive behavior (sugar), low-energy, problems concentrating, low grades, socialization skills, and a lot more, many of the problems might be solved not at the drug store, but at the dinner plate. What healthy snacks are available and what is the school lunchroom serving?

Health problems from malnutrition?

Malnutrition, in any age group, can bring about devastating health problems, diseases and illnesses. Overweight patients can be malnourished as in the case of an overweight patient at The Brookhaven Hospital in Oklahoma. Surprised doctors discovered that the patient's back pain was being caused by a disease called rickets.Rickets is a disease that is often thought of as being brought about by starvation and malnutrition - and almost never heard of in America.

Brookhaven

Brookhaven is one of the very rare hospitals that has Christian treatment and recovery programs for obese patients. New research is now examining the nutrition available or absent from fast foods, junk foods and convenience foods. Can a consumer eat a lot of fast junk food and be overweight and still have a body that is starving?

Elmo is serious about helping children get happy and healthy!

So, although, an education in different ways to change to a healthy eating lifestyle is serious business, Elmo is making it all look so easy. What kid wouldn't be asking for some broccoli when he sees Elmo having fun eating this green power-packed vegetable - and Elmo is only 3 years old.
