Sestina Poetry: Ending World

Casey C

Falling stars turn to dust, raindrops never touch the ground.
The sun turns to ice, the moon shatters like a piece of glass.
Lightning strikes without a sound, starting to feel like a ghost town.
Boulders turn to stone.
Soaring airplanes frozen in the sky.
Where are all the people, no one is home.

Mother nature telling us to go home.
Cracks starting to form on the ground.
Birds tumble out of the sky.
Minds clear as a sheet of glass.
Bones turn to stone.
There is no movement in this town.

Nothing but a ghost town.
Fire spreading home to home.
The ground covered in stone
falling through the cracks in the ground.
No more sipping from a wine glass.
Shade of darkness forms in the sky.

No sun, no stars, no moon in the sky.
Darkness clouds over this little town.
No way to see the world through the shattered glass.
Smoke fills the air from the burning homes,
burning coals smother the ground.
Bushes and flowers turn to stone.

The world frozen in time like a piece of stone.
Clouds no longer hover through the sky.
Footprints no longer imprinted in the ground.
Not a soul left in this town.
Nothing but ashes left from the burning homes.
No sound coming from the shattering of glass.

No reflection seen through the broken glass.
Everything frozen in time like a piece of stone.
Nothing left from the burning home.
The sky is falling out of the sky,
it's going to suppress this town.
Nothing left but a sinking ground.

Crystal glass, clouds hover in the sky.
Stone turns to boulders in this populated town.
Welcome to my nightmare, home alone, walking on solid ground.
