Setting Aside Time for Your Workout or Exercise Routine

Aaron Tadeo
There are many people who want to lose weight for lots of different reasons. It could be due to health reasons or if the person just wants to look good. The sad news however is that a significant percentage of people who undergo a weight loss program fail. And one of the main reasons is the apparent lack of time to do the exercise routines. Exercise routines burn a lot of calories and is one of the biggest contributor to weight loss. It'll increase your stamina, strength and it'll make you livelier and ultimately healthier.

First of all, we really can't blame anyone at all. Following a strict 5-day exercise routine can be really tough to manage especially if the person has a very hectic schedule. Even a 30-minute workout can be really hard to fit into a packed schedule.

But then, it doesn't always seem impossible. All it takes could just be proper planning and time management. It is understandable that it is not easy at all. There are lots of things to consider. If you go to the gym, you'd have to compute your travel time. You also need to manage your short breaks in between routines. You can lessen them like 30 seconds or so.

You'd have to plan what routines you'll be doing for the day to fit them into your schedule. Be realistic. Do not try to fit in an hour workout if you really only have 30 minutes to spare. If you have a number of routines to do, most especially if you are doing weight training, divide them throughout the week. You can lessen the repetitions and increase the weight or lessen the weight and perform the repetitions a lot faster whichever you prefer.

Also, take your sleep into full account. Make sure that you still have enough time to rest especially if you're fitting your exercise routines with your job. 7-8 hours of sleep per day is ideal but again it may depend on what you prefer or what you're used to.

What's really important is the attitude and motivation. Procrastination will often lead to failure of the diet program. If you have time to watch TV for more than an hour or play video games for 2 hours or so, why can't you give even 30 minutes to do your aerobics or weights? If you have a timetable, it will be a disaster. You'll either find it difficult to catch up or just give up all at once.

It shows your priority. If you find yourself making excuses not to workout, rethink why you're into the diet/exercise program in the first place. Don't lose sight of your goals. Rediscover your motivation. If you're trying to lose weight, you'd most likely have to sacrifice time and other activities.

But then if you're having fun while doing it, I'm pretty sure that will work out really great. Find a workout that you like and it'll most likely work for you. You really don't have to follow any particular routine but as long as you're consistent in following your plan/schedule, you'll be just fine.
