Once you have the base you can set up the tree. You will want to make sure to shake the tree a little bit if it's real, to get rid of the extra needles. These are a fire hazard. You will want to water the tree right when you get the tree set up. The tree will drink a lot of water within the first week. You will want to check the tree several times every day and make sure to add water. If you don't add water the needles will become dry and could catch on fire.
You can then start to decorate the tree after you have watered the tree. You will first want to put on Christmas lights. You will want to start out at the bottom of the tree and work your way up the tree. You can then plug in extra strands of lights to the plug at the end of the strand of lights. You will probably want at least one or two different strands of lights on your tree. After that is finished you can place on garland, beads, or ribbon. This will add a little bit more decoration to your tree before you place on your decorations.
When everything else is on the tree, the last thing you will want to decorate the tree with is decorations. After the decorations are on the tree you can then place some other icicles or other items over the top of the decorations. Once the tree is all set up you can stand back and see if there are any decorations that you want to move around to fill in some gaps. If you have at tree near a window you might want to place some decorations on that side of the tree so everybody else can enjoy the tree as well.
