Setting Goals with Daily Intentions

What Are Your Intentions?

Patti Stafford

Do you use daily intentions when you are setting goals? If you don't live your life on purpose, anything and everything can and usually goes wrong. When you set intentions and plan everything out, it doesn't mean you won't have obstacles. You will, but you also need a contingency plan for how you will deal with them when they arise.

Intentions are a lot like setting goals but they are generally more immediate. You can set a daily goal of how much you want to accomplish, but you also need to set the intention that it will go smoothly and be a pleasant experience. If something happens that isn't pleasant, you have already created a better mindset to deal with the problem. If you don't set the intention and something happens it could leave you angry and frustrated and those two things usually cause a problem to last longer than it should. Einstein said you can't solve a problem with same thinking that created it. This is so true. If you allow things to anger and frustrate you, you're actually blocking the solution. Solutions come when we least expect them. Have you noticed that? When you walk away and do something else, the solution presents itself and you go fix the problem in just a few minutes. It's not coincidence. It's because you've allowed your mind to receive the solution instead of blocking it.

Intentions are vibrations that you send out into the universe. It works much like the law of attraction, and regardless of whether or not you believe in that, it is a real phenomenon. If you start to pay attention or even look back on your life, you will start to see that this natural law really does, in fact, exist.

When you set intentions they guide your planned actions and help bring about a resolution and keep you focused on productivity.

Depending on how you plan out your work day, you should set your daily intentions each morning. Many people plan out their day the night before. That way it's all lined out when they sit down to work. Take your daily list of things to do each morning and write out a small intention statement for the day. It can be something as simple as, "I intend to have a pleasant working day. I will finish projects and tasks ahead of time. I will have a productive day."

It sounds simple and it may even sound a bit silly, but it does help because it gives you a productive and working mindset. When you have that kind of mindset at the onset of your working day you are better equipped to handle problems if they do arise.

Try setting intentions for two weeks and see if it doesn't help you become more productive and help you handle problems with a more positive mindset. Setting goals and using daily power intentions works hand in hand. Give it a try.
