Breathlessly and recklessly
She partakes in his love
Knowing any minute
It could all come crashing down
Deeper he falls
Succumbing to shared bliss
She makes him feel
So magical, so alive
Together their hearts melt
As they become one
Neither knows where
This adventure will someday lead
They aren't supposed to
Be feeling this way
Both often gave up on true love
And settled for what they thought was right
But is it better or right
To miss out on happiness
And settle
For something less?

Post a CommentNicely said, and true. Amazed that I stayed married this long after moving in with my husband three weeks after our first date twenty five years ago.
Nicely done, Cheers. :)
Very nice Lyn =0)
Great poem. Each decision is a personal one made by the individual. Whether it is right or wrong will show up eventually. Life is a roller-coaster that is worth the ride.
Wonderful.
Such a quandary!
Never settle on second best, never be happy.
Never settle. cheers :)
That is a question many cannot answer.
Bittersweet!
