Here are the items that you will need:
Eye primer (you don't need it, but it's great for keeping shadow in place)
2 Shadows: One light, one darker
Eyeliner
Eyeshadow brushes, and q-tips
MascaraStep 1 - Begin by applying a light shade of concealer to the under eye area, and all over the top lid. Your mineral makeup foundation is a great concealer for this step and prepares your Eyes for the eyeshadow that you are going to apply. I noticed that MAC 'Paint' works well for this step.
Step 2 - Next you should gently line the top and bottom rims of your eyes with an eyeliner pencil. Pay very close attention to the lash line. If your eyes are you should line from corner to corner. If you have small eyes apply liner starting from the middle of the under eye to the outside of the eye. It makes your eyes appear larger and your eyelashes thicker. Also make sure that your eyeliner matches well with your eyeshadow.
Step 3 - With a q-tip, soften the edges of the eye pencil line by gently smudging it.
Step 4 - Again, the key to a smoky eye is pairing a lighter base with the darker hue. I prefer a nice cream shade for my base. Sweep a light, shimmery shadow over the lids to your browbone. My favorite colors to use are taupe and sometimes a silvery gray.
Step 5 -.Now that you have the base & eyeliner on, it's time to get the smoky effect. You need a darker eyeshadow shade. I usually prefer black, but you can use other colors as well. Using an eyeshadow brush. Blend in color starting at your lash line & blending up, but keep it below the crease. Make sure to blend color into the lash line so the eye liner disappears. Make sure your dark color doesn't go beyond the crease!
Step 6 - To add to the dark and dramatic look, apply two coats of mascara. You could also curl your eyelashes.
Step 7 - Lightly line lips near the tear glands with a natural color and add some sheer color in silver, peach, or light pink. You're finished! Get ready to set the crowd on fire with you're glamorous smokey eyes.
Tips:
If you have smokey eyes, make sure you keep your lips as a nude color. Overdone eyes and lips look bad.
