Another arranged marriage type is Traditional when the parents choose a mate they think will be suitable, and if their child refuses they try again. The Modern involves a meeting of the family chosen out of several possible mates who could make their child happy. The Modern including courtship is when a couple gets to know each other better by keeping in contact . These couples usually date many times, e-mail each other and talk on the phone long enough to decide if they like ach other. However, some girls do not want a lengthy courtship before a rejection, so they choose a short one with hopes of no stigmatization. This is widely practiced in Japan.
The Introduction Only arranged marriage when parents meet with the prospective mate, and allow the couple to work it out on their own. This is practice in the rural areas of north and south America. In India, some couples tend to find a mate on their own which is known as self arranged marriage which is based on love first. There are also Marriage of Convenience is when a couple marries for different reasons such as prestige or wealth which no one wants to ever admit. These type of marriages could happen with people of the same social class who rarely spends time with each other, and seem to have nothing in common. Opposites do attract, but perhaps there's more similarity there. Convenient marriages are like business partnerships when each agree to work together in order to live together peaceably.
Sometimes love can come by surprise and no one will know it until a situation comes that turns each person around. Love can also happen at the first sight of meeting that special someone. The best way to explain it is a certain chemistry between you both that feels natural and easy. If it feels dramatic and like a rush of camphor, spearmint and peppermint all in one it shows how much you've lacked in the area of your social life. Meaning, you haven't met anyone in all your years who can make you feel good inside for being who you are. Some people talk to you about themselves without interest in you, but that person was different in every way. I guess it shouldn't take almost ten years to be engaged to one person unless you have real plans. Otherwise, the wait could be an indication that there is distrust or holding back for the purpose of having some freedom from you. On the other hand, rushing into things with a person you don't know can also be dangerous. Not all marriages are sweet, and every stranger may not be a stranger. However, it is best to listen to your conscience in everything you do. Stick to your intuition, and keep your eyes open for possibilities.
