Seven Ways to Get Pregnant Faster and Increase Fertility
Seven Easy Tips to Increase Fertility for Men and Women
Fertility Tip #1 - See Your Doctor Before Trying To Get Pregnant
It's always a good idea to have your OB/GYN check you before you try to get pregnant. Conditions such as endometriosis, hidden sexually transmitted diseases and infections can prevent you from getting pregnant.
Fertility Tip #2 - Have Sex Three Times A Week
In order to get pregnant, the sperm has to be within reach of your egg before it's fertilized. Not everyone has a 28 day cycle, so it's difficult to predict ovulation. If you have sex three times a week, you should be covered.
Fertility Tip #3 - Give Up Caffeine
According to Babycenter.com, one cup per day of strongly brewed coffee does not appear to have an effect on women's' fertility. But the same study showed that women who drink one cup or more cups of coffee a day took longer to conceive than those who have not consumed any coffee. The facts were found in a 2003 report from the Center for the Evaluation of Risks to Human Reproduction at the National Institutes of Health.
Fertility Tip #4 - (For Men) Wear Loose Underwear
It's commonly known that wearing loose underwear and relaxed fitting pants allows the testicles to stay cool and keeps them away from the body. The sperm are healthier this way so it can't hurt to try it.
Fertility Tip #5 - Check Which Medications You Are Taking
According to the Mayo Clinic, certain medications cause infertility in women. Many times, fertility can be restored if you stop taking the medication. This is a good question to ask your OB/GYN if you take any medications on a regular basis.
Fertility Tip #6 - Quit Smoking
We all know the ham smoking can do to an unborn fetus. But smoking while trying to get pregnant decreases your chances of success. This applies to men as well. The Mayo Clinic also advises that smoking increases your chance of a miscarriage.
Fertility Tip #7 - Track Your Ovulation Cycles
Many experts and books agree that charting your menstrual cycles and basal temperature can predict ovulation. Most basal thermometers come with a chart enclosed so you can track your temperature each morning before you get out of bed. An excellent book to read on this topic is Taking Charge of Your Fertility by Toni Weschler. Fertilityplus.org states that a temperature shift of at least .4 degrees over a 48-hour time frame is a good predictor of ovulation.
As you can see, there are countless tips and secrets out there to help you get pregnant faster. These are just a few of the easiest ones to follow.
