When does sex turn from what is considered normal, into a sexual addiction? It has been scientifically documented that men tend to think of sex more often than women. It is considered normal to have thoughts with sexual overtones or sexual fantasies, but it goes beyond the point of normal when sex is the only recurring thought in the mind. It is normal to think about sex, but not all the time and during any given situation.
A sex addict going through an enhanced episode of sex addiction can put themselves or others in danger. They would take risks that they would normally never consider. Sex addiction can compel a sex addict to have unsafe sex with a complete stranger risking disease, physical harm, or unwanted pregnancy. On the other end of the spectrum, sex addiction could lead to seeking sexual fulfillment by forcing others to perform sexual activities, also known as rape. Over time almost any sex addict could grow to reach this level of capability. Either because their sexual desires are so abnormal or even disturbing that the sex addict has a very small chance of finding someone willing to act out their fantasy. The addiction is so strong in the individual that they no longer can tell the difference between right and wrong.
These kind of sex addicts are a danger to society not only because they can no longer tell right from wrong, but because they are seeking sexual gratification by any means necessary in most cases. Sexual predators do not just reside in big cities but in small neighborhoods where every family knows one another. No one is safe from this kind of sex addict. The case of the missing Florida girl, Somer Thompson, is a good reminder that you should always take precautions when you have children because there are sick people out there who do not think like normal people do.
An American man accidentally caused his own death after attempting to commit a deviant type of sex addict; this man was not just addicted to sex. His addiction turned to sex with dead bodies and then it turned to sex with parts of dead bodies. This man caused his own death by electrocution after he rigged a cow's heart to a car battery and then tried to have sex with it. As soon as he came into contact with the cow heart he was electrocuted to death. In the end, his addiction killed him.
In most cases the only way a sex addict can get help with their addiction is to first acknowledge that they have a problem. Most sex addicts successfully hide their addiction from their friends and family, so no one even knows there is a problem until it is too late and they can no longer hide their addiction. Sex addicts that remain in control and wish to seek help should talk to a therapist or counselor and think about enrolling in some kind of rehabilitation program to rid the addiction and need from their life. It is a normal human function to want sex, but it is not normal to obsess about it and even act on sexual impulses with little or no thought.
