Sex is a Chore?

How often does the average couple have sex? I often wonder about this because I wonder if I am normal. I have a very active sex drive, and I am younger than my boyfriend. It seems like I want to have sex more often than he does. That seems strange to me only because I hear constantly how men are more interested in sex than women are. I have to disagree with that common phrase. As a woman in her 20's I know for a fact that I am more interested in sex than many men I know.

Is there a right or wrong number of times per week to have sex? Is it normal to have a predetermined day for sexual activity in a relationship? I am not sure, but I am glad to share my thoughts on this subject with anyone who cares to read my article.

When we were a new couple, we could have passed for rabbits because we spent most of our time together naked in bed, getting busy. I am not exaggerating when I say there were more days than not when we had sex at least 3 if not 4 times a day. This went on for around two years. We had sex every day. I thought this would be the pace of our relationship, but sadly it was not meant to continue at this passionate pace. Now I consider myself lucky to get some three times a week, and sadly that does not happen that often.

I refuse to set a specific day of the week for having sex. I am not on a schedule, and I don't want scheduled sexual activity. I want to lose myself in the moment when it is right. I want sex to be spontaneous and pleasurable, and not seen as a task to be completed.

I think that as a woman who is interested in sex, and who is attractive and desirable I should be having much more sex than I am. At the rate I am going I am afraid by the time I am in my 40's sex will be even less frequent, but I am not alone in this. While some people make sex seem like it is the most important thing in their lives, the majority of people simply do not believe that sex is the most important priority anymore. Life happens and with responsibility comes commitment to other things and unfortunately in situations such as mine, at the end of the day my lover is often too tired to even go through the motions.
