Sex and the City 2 Fashion and Jewelry: Steal the Looks

HBO's hit TV series Sex and the City, and the TV-to-film movie, have long been renowned for the designer fashion, unique jewelry, and unusual-but-chic clothing ensembles featured on-screen. The newest sequel, Sex and the City 2, is no exception to this rule. With vintage disco and '0's inspired pieces, Desert-Chic Arabian garb and bold statement jewelry, SATC 2 is a buffet table of potential summer fashion trends.

Of course, no guide to Sex and the City fashion would be complete without special attention to the shoe wardrobe department. One of the first pairs fans see in the new SATC movie are the glittery gold heels worn by Carrie, pictured here; Cosmopolitan reports that these are by designer Christian Louboutins. Another popular look were the black floral heels worn by Carrie for her date with Big, as seen here; steal this look with the Flower Front Strappy Open Toe Heel for $26.90 at GoJane.

FocusOnStyle reports that much of the hottest looks worn by Sarah Jessica Parker (Carrie) and crew belong to the Halston Heritage collection. The electric blue Halson Heritage Stripe Lurex Pleated Cocktail Dress worn Carrie is available on Singer22 for $435. My personal favorite is the Halston Heritage Iconic Pleated Long Dress in Orange worn by Carrie, which captures the sizzling summer fashion appeal of the clothing worn by the ladies in Abu Dhabi. My favorite outfit worn by any of the lovely ladies in SATC 2 is without a doubt the Christian Dior "newspaper dress" modeled by Carrie on her date with Big. Originally seen in Season 3, this "recycled" look is just as stunning today as it was then; view a picture of the designer dress here. Though I found a few online vendors offering similar dresses, none seemed reputable enough to recommend here-sorry, Ladies!

Much of the jewelry featured in Sex and the City 2 was an array of large, bold, vivid gemstones. Or a pair of chic, large hoop earrings in silver or gold. But a reoccurring piece worn by Sarah Jessica Parker throughout the movie was the glistening "clover necklace" pictured here. Designed by SATC stylist Patricia Field, a version of the popular necklace called The "Lucky Charm" Clover Necklace is available on her website from $56-72 in gold and silver. Patricia Field also offers a custom version of the black lace headpiece worn by Carrie at the wedding in Connecticut; the piece is by Triviál, and is available on her website here for $400.

My favorite piece of jewelry from SATC 2 is definitely the huge, chunky statement necklace worn by Kim Cattrall (Samantha) during a movie premiere; see the necklace here in a shot of Cattrall with guest star Miley Cyrus. Unfortunately, I have yet to find an affordable, inspired-by design available online, despite the numerous online vendors and designers dedicated to recreating the fan-favorites from the SATC franchise.

Ultimately, the newest Sex and the City chapter was just as full of the vivid colors, strange clothing combinations, flawless style and poise which made the SATC women legendary for their influence on fashion trends. I have no doubt that the summer will be full of SATC-inspired designs, making it possible for fans to tuck a tiny piece of the Sex and the City 2 magic into their closets.
