Sex and the City 2 premieres in theaters on May 27, 2010 (just a few short weeks away). For those who are eagerly awaiting the return of the fabulous four, read on for everything you ever wanted to know about Sex and the City's most career minded star, Miranda Hobbes. Sex and the City 2 sees Miranda making a major career change.

Cynthia Nixon is Miranda Hobbes

Miranda Hobbes has been portrayed since inception by the Emmy, Tony and Grammy winning Cynthia Nixon. Cynthia Nixon's early career included appearances on several television after school specials and appearances in several different Broadway shows, including a role in the Broadway production of Indiscretions for which she received a Tony nomination. It was her role as the cynical career minded Miranda Hobbes that catapulted Nixon to stardom.

Sex and the City's Miranda Hobbes

For those (like me) who have watched every episode of HBO's Sex and the City, you know Miranda Hobbes as "the voice of reason" that keeps the sometimes-flighty Carrie Bradshaw on track (at least some of the times). When Sex and the City first began, Miranda was portrayed as a somewhat masculine, almost male hating, attorney. Fortunately, as seasons passed, the character of Miranda evolved to become softer and more feminine. The transformation became most apparent following the birth of her son, Brady and subsequent marriage to Brady's bumbling yet charming father, Steve.

Miranda Hobbes Romances

Miranda has had fewer romantic liaisons than the other three Sex and the City Stars. Miranda met husband Steve Brady during the second season of HBO's Sex and the City, when she stopped by the bar he was working at. Her other notable romances were with the younger and less sophisticated Skipper Johnston, and with the successful and handsome sports doctor, Robert Leeds (played by Blair Underwood). Miranda left Dr. Leeds when she realized that it was Steve she was in love with.

Miranda's Career Change in Sex and the City 2

As the show's career driven Attorney, Miranda has always been Sex and the City's most career focused star. According to the Sex and the City 2 spoilers, that may change in the upcoming film. According to several different sources, including Perez Hilton, Miranda will be leaving her law career and will be opening a restaurant with husband Steve. This will be one of the major plotlines of Sex and the City 2. Where there is some conflicting information among the Sex and the City 2 spoilers is in why Miranda decides to leave her career as an attorney. Several of the Sex and the City spoilers say that she leaves her law career following a malpractice suit. Other Sex and the City 2 spoilers say that that is not true, but provide no other reason for Miranda's career change.

What Else Can We Expect From Miranda in Sex and the City 2?

Miranda will appear topless, which should come as no surprise to anyone who has watched Sex and the City. If you remember from the original Sex and the City movie, Miranda and Steve had the movie's most erotic sex scene. With Miranda and Steve running a restaurant together, I think we can expect to see some clashes between Miranda's "take charge" attitude and Steve's more relaxed style.

Miranda Heads to Abu Dhabi

The Sex and the City 2 trailers show the girls heading off to the hot and sunny Middle East. I, for one, see images of a terribly sunburned Miranda Hobbes. Miranda's fair skin seems like no match for the hot desert sun. Expect plenty of witty one-liners from Sex and the City's cynical Miranda.

If you've seen the movie already, you know this opening the restaurant deal didn't happen. I was happy she was the voice of reason in Abu Dhabi though.
