Sex and the City 2 Movie Updates

We are addicted to sex, Sex in the City that is. The first Sex and the City movie made 412.6 million world wide. We just can't seem to get enough of Carrie Bradshaw, Miranda, Samantha and Charlotte. This February, Michael Patrick King, the director announced there would be a sequel : Sex and the City 2, and that the actresses Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristen Davis and Cynthia Nixon all had signed on for the movie. Release date scheduled for 5/28/2010.

In the first movie we were shocked to find Carrie left at the altar. The movie eventually had a happy ending with Carrie marrying Mr. Big played by Chris Noth.

Variety.com originally released in April that it was uncertain if Chris Noth had signed on to the sequel, but after negotiations and a hush 7 figure deal he would be back. Sex and the City fans took a deep sigh of relief.
We can't wait to see what is in store now for the newly married couple?? Rumors are flying. Maybe a pregnancy?
Rumors of Miley Cyrus wanting a part, a cameo appearance by Victoria Beckman , and Liza Minelli all unconfirmed for now. We can't wait to see how the sequel plays out.

According to Jezebel.com Grant Wilfey Casting Inc had a casting call on August 4th, at the Metropolitan Pavilion for fashion models, upscale socialites, urban club goers, gays and lesbians, international types and professional soccer players for extras on the Sex and the City 2 set, paying $93.90 and overtime for 12-16 hours. Over 5000 Sex and the City Extra Wanna- bes showed at the audition and the line was wrapped around the block of 125 West 18th Street.

On September 1, filming began for Sex and the City 2 in New York City, in Manhattan. Photos of Sarah Jessica Parker on 84th Street was photographed in a white sheer dress, and gold Christian Loubaitin heels surfaced all over the internet. Carrie Bradshaw was back!

On September 4th, on NY Daily News.com it was reported that they had to increase security because when Cynthia Nixon who plays Miranda showed to the set, girls starting pushing past the guards to get to her. Sarah Jessica Parker also was approached while going back to her trailer. It was stated that Sarah told the security guards "not to hurt the fans." A witness stated "that you would think they were guarding the president." It was said that the security guards were a bit rough with fans. Filming was halted until the chaos was controlled.

Since the beginning of filming in New York City, Sex and the City 2 has gotten alot of media attention. Anyone and everyone trying to figure out what the movie will be about. Access Hollywood taped Carrie hailing a cab, talking to Mr. Big, and getting into a car with him the first day of shooting.

Originally producers of the movie wanted to shoot scenes in United Arab Emirates but for personal reasons would not allow it. Rumored to be because Sex was in the title and are a heavy Muslim nation. This has led to belief that Mr. Big and Carrie may have to travel there for business in the movie.

It was announced also that Mr. Big's office in the film would be shot in Hogan and Hartsons New York Law Office,
and that the employees were asked to straighten up their offices. Making alot of fans waiting to catch a glimpse somewhere on the New York City streets.

On sundaymail.co.uk website on Aug 5th, it was announced that Liza Minnelli may be on board to play a part in the sequel that will be set in the Middle East. It is believed that producers were able to get a different location for filming in the Middle East. It was announced that the shooting of Sex and the City 2 movie will be taped until January of 2010.

Fans think that Mr. Big and Carrie may move to London, and take a job in Dubai. All unconfirmed of course.

It is also been said on maireclaire.co.uk that Katie Price and Victoria Beckman from the Spice Girls have auditioned to play an English Nanny in the movie. And that Kim Cattrall and Sarah Jessica Parker are fighting alot even before the filming begins.

As always Sex and the City 2 movie is the talk of the town, and the rumors fly, for the plot of the movies are always hush hush and there will always be someone trying to start a rumor or catch a photo to figure it all out. For the true fans of the City we look forward to seeing the marriage of Carrie and Mr. Big unfold on the big screen, something we are just not use to, and the antics of the other characters.
