Sex and the City's Mr. Big: Could Aidan's Return Mean the End of Carrie and Big?

The new film, Sex and the City 2 premieres May 27th and the speculation is running rampant that the return of Carrie Bradshaw, former beau, Aidan means the end of Carrie and Big. Could this be true? Here is a look at the much-anticipated Carrie, Mr. Big, and Aidan love triangle. Please note that this article contains some Sex and the City 2 spoilers.

Sex and the City 2 Spoilers: Mr. Big Loses His Money

One of the big spoilers circulating is that Mr. Big, also known as John James Preston, loses a lot of money during the recession. Sounds like a plausible storyline, which is very relevant in today's volatile economy. One Sex and the City blog states that Mr. Big and Carrie lose all of their money and take up residence with Charlotte and Harry. Other blogs have Mr. Big moving to London. One of my favorite Sex and the City 2spoilers has Mr. Big running off to the Middle East in order to save his business and make enough money to support Carrie's shoe habit. Now that sounds like a plausible Sex and the City storyline.

Sex and the City 2 Spoilers: Mr. Big Has an Affair; Carrie Finds Out She Is Pregnant

US Magazine reports that not only does Mr. Big lose most of his money in the upcoming Sex and the City 2; he ends up taking a job in London, while Carrie stays in New York. While in London, Mr. Big has an affair, which Carrie finds out about, causing her to leave him. Upon leaving Mr. Big, Carrie discovers that she is pregnant. This Sex and the City 2 spoiler has been nixed by many as untrue.

Sex and the City 2: Carrie, Mr. Big and Aidan Love Triangle

Another plotline that has been circulating surrounds the return of Carrie Bradshaw's former beau, Aidan Shaw. We know from the movie's trailers that Carrie runs into Aidan, while vacationing in Abu Dhabi. It is implied that the two become romantically involved on some level. There are rumors circulating that Mr. Big's reaction to Carrie and Aidan's romantic involvement is a major storyline.

Who Is Mr. Big?

Mr. Big appears on the very first episode of HBO's Sex and the City as a rich and mysterious man, who captivates lead character, Carrie Bradshaw. Interestingly, we d o not find out Mr. Big's name until the very last episode, when it is revealed that his name is John James Preston. Mr. Big appears throughout the series as Carrie Bradshaw's major love interest. Their love affair culminates in the series' final episode, "An American Girl in Paris". This is the episode where Big finally declares his love to Carrie. The couple marries in the first Sex and the City movie, but not without Big First getting "cold feet".

Characteristics of Sex and the City's Mr. Big

The character of Mr. Big was supposedly modeled after Ron Galotti, the former publisher of GQ and Talk Magazines. Mr. Big embodies the "big New York City man". Handsome, rich and charismatic, he is every woman's dream. He is also a huge commitment phobe, who not only dumped Carrie numerous times, but also went on to break Carrie's heart by marrying much younger, socialite, Natasha. Love him or hate him, you can't help but find him interesting.
