Sex, Murder and a Double Latte

So I first came across the book Obsession, Deceit and really dark Chocolate in the library where I was trying to find something decent to read. I was angry that day because some books that I put on hold in the library weren't there yet so I had nothing to read. I came across this delightful book and when I read the blurb I discovered that this was a series of books. The book I had was the second one so I decided to put the first book on hold which was called Sex, Murder and a Double Latte. I was in luck because the next day the library finally had a book I wanted, so I had something to read while I waited for Sex, Murder and a Double Latte to arrive.

So the day finally came when I received Sex, Murder and a Double Latte and I was ecstatic. I am a really big fan of series in which there is a witty and funny heroine. And this book was one of those so I was hooked as soon as I read the first word. I started reading the book and I couldn't stop reading it. I even took it when I had to go to the bathroom. Now when something like this happens it must be a really good book. I decided to write a review on the book so that this series can have more exposure than it already has.

So this series is all about the famous writer Sophie Katz. When I found out that Sophie was a writer I laughed because it's ironic that an author decides to make her main character a writer. It's also really cool how she decided to go about this. In this case the stories that Sophie writes have a lot to do with the first book. Not only does it have a lot to do with the book, but in every chapter Kyra Davis starts out with a quote from one of Sophie's "story".

So in the first book Kyra Davis weaves this intricate puzzle where we think we know the killer but it's not who we think it is. A copycat killer is on the loose and Sophie is sure that she is the next one that he is after. The first murder victim is a filmmaker friend of Sophie who is murdered in the exact same way as a scene in one of his movies. Sophie begins to get paranoid when things around her house are being moved and windows are left opened when she was sure that she left them closed. Then she starts receiving notes. When you add to this the sexy Anatoly Darinsky things become more complicated. Sophie doesn't know if she should trust this mysterious man who is always there. She doesn't even know what he does and his whole aura is just mysterious.

Sex, Murder and a Double Latte is just the first in the trilogy of Sophie Katz. Pick up the book and judge for yourself how entertaining and wonderful this book is. I have no idea whether the author is going to write another book in this series but hopefully she will and keep entertaining us with the wonderful Sophie Katz.
