Sex Offender Community Outrages Citizens
Community of Sex Offenders Lives in Birmingham, AL Suburb
Anyone convicted of a sexual based crime must register as a sex offender in the state and/or city they live in after incarceration. In some areas, citizens are notified that there is a sex offender residing in their neighborhood. Such is the case in a suburb of Birmingham, AL called Avondale, where residents were bombarded with fliers in their mailboxes warning them that 26 such offenders, ranging from rapists to others convicted of sexual abuse, were in their neighborhood. It seems that Shiloni Transformation Ministry, Inc. rented apartments in four homes to house the offenders. Although the ex-offenders have rules to follow beyond the traditional laws of not being able to live or work within 2000 feet of a daycare or school, etc., citizens are still alarmed at the concentration of that many offenders in one area. The Avondale community plans to discuss the matter at their next association meeting.

Post a CommentIt's so easy to judge until this situation affects someone you love. Not everyone convicted of a sex crime is guilty, and even more of them are not perverts. PEOPLE MAKE MISTAKES. MY GOD ONLY MADE ONE PERFECT MAN AND THAT WAS JESUS CHRIST. Stop judging and condemning and give people a chance. I could care less what people may say about me I know who and what I am. My definition of a sex offender is an adult that participates in sexual acts with a minor/child or someone that forces themselves on someone in a sexual manner. Not underage sex or a crazy ex trying to hurt the someone It's not fair that one name can be scandalized so easily and not given a chance to defend themselves. Some people don't commit this crime just chose the wrong person to have sex with or even a relationship with. Everyone is not molesters, rapists or abusers. It's not fair.
I don't understand how the judicial system can stereotype everyone as a sex offender. Someone having sex at an early age or someone getting caught up with the wrong person can not be defined as a sex offender.
The laws for sex offenders is way to hard and should be changed. I was 17 my girlfriend was 15. We had sex and now at 36 I am still a sex offender looked upon as a bad person. How many of you could be in my boat? The laws need to be changed.
It's so amazing that people have branded EX-sex offenders as the most notorious horrible monsters in the entire world. It's also amazing that most people would rather live next door to an EX AXE MURDERER than to an EX sex offender. Why do you think sex offenders are SOOOO hated? Megans Law... Megan was kidnapped, raped, and murdered. Out of the three horrible crimes that were done to this little girl, only one is looked upon so badly that it has most states lashing out at it and making it IMPOSSIBLE to live a normal life with that type of crime even after serving prison time... guess which one it is? Not Kidnapping, where you will possibly never ever see your child again. Not MURDER, where you will definitely never see your child ever again. It's the sex part. Amazing huh? I would have thought it to be the murder part or all of the above, not just the sex offense alone. Incredible.
