Sex Offender Might Be Living Next Door to You. How Do You Know If You Are Safe?

Should Sex Offenders Have Diver Licenses?

DZBO
After writing about Phillip Garrido and finding out that there were over 100 sex offenders, I got a number of emails say how they had a large number of sex offenders in their towns too. With that in mind, I went to (click here) and looked up my town. I could not believe want I found! Not only were there about 60 of them as of May 2009, living in the same city as my family but 3 of them were living near us. One of them was on my street. I had seen him often walking his dog, talking to children and my daughter. Right then I called my daughter and warned her.

That night we went to the web site and looked at the list. My daughter was able to pick out more people that she knew by looking at their photos. Reminder that you cannot go by just the name because other people that are not sex offenders can share the same name. Most of the offenders had listed as: Crime: 288(A) - Lewd Or Lascivious Acts With Child Under 14 Years. It made me sick to think that the good people living around us did not know that these people were here close to our children.

I am a member of the Neighbor Watch and I called a meeting for that Sunday. A few people did show up and I showed them on my laptop the list that I had found. One of the ladies from the near by school said that they all ready knew about the list and the sex offenders near by. She informed us that there was nothing we could really do about them but be aware that they were in our neighbor. They do have their rights and until they do something against the law, we can only make sure that we protect ourselves.

With that in mind, we made plans to not walk our pets after dark and do the buddy system. One of out members said we were being silly but the rest of us were on the side of better safe than sorry.

When all is said and done, there are sex offenders in almost every city in the USA. Most of them go after young children. There is no sure fine way to stop them. They will use every trick in the book to get what they are after. Until someone comes up with some way to slow him or her down, we are at his or her mercy.

I do have some ideas that I would like to put out there and see what you folks think of them.

Most of the time, a predator following the person was driving in a car. They will force or trick their prey in the vehicle. I think if we take away their diver license as part of their punishment and issue them ID card showing that they are sex offenders this would help. It would be hard for them to use a bus or cab to hunt their prey.

Now some of you might not agree with this but I think a sex offender show wear an armband when they are on the street. I believe that this would help children know that they show stay away from these people. So many offenders use their dogs to attract people and this would cut down on that.

These two suggestions above are only ways that might help to keep people safe. I know everyone has their rights but I believe you'll give up some of your rights when you hurt others. Maybe this would help. I would like to hear from you folks out there and hear your ideas.

I agree, take away their Diver Licenses and you would cut down on a lot of missing people.
