In 1963,James Bond was featured in the movie,"From Russia with Love". Based on the spy novel by Ian Fleming, Bond was on the mission of retrieving a top secret decoding machine from a beautiful Russian defector.
Finding the adoring blonde, naked, in his hotel bed , Bond does the natural thing, unaware that she is a double agent and there is a movie camera behind the one way glass recording the event for blackmail and propaganda!

In 1965 ,Hogan's Heroes was on television starring Bob Crane, a comedy about life in a German prisoner of war camp. Bob and a close friend used the new videotape technology to record their escapades with a large variety of women. Rumors of these home movies caused the star to become almost unemployable since they contradicted his nice guy image so harshly.

In the present day world where Charlie Sheen exists, the scandalous content of these earlier stories might seem laughable. Now, there is a laundry list of indiscretions with famous names attached.
Pamela Anderson, Vanessa Williams, Kim Kardashian , Paris Hilton, Rob Lowe,Tanya Harding, and Kendra Wilkinson are only a few of the many who could not resist showing off. Of course, most of them never intended to share these adventures with the general public.

The pilfered and published keepsakes, that somehow went missing, don't seem to be the career killers of earlier times. Maybe for a few, the purloined photo valentines actually boosted their fame into heights that they would never have reached with their limited allotment of talent.
Anyone can be famous for 15 minutes but if your name is a household word, lock up your mementos or your fame might last longer than you expected.
