Sexiest Jewelry for Guys

Vs. Not Remotely Sexy Jewelry and Piercings

There's an old saying 'less is more'. When it comes to sexy jewelry and accessories this saying couldn't be more apt. This article defines what is sexy jewelry for guys and what is tacky. Let me begin by saying, men, that if you wear no jewelry that is sexy in and of itself. Being comfortable in your own skin without embellishment, is hot. This articles refers only to those men who choose to wear jewelry.

Sexy Jewel:
Let your rule of thumb (pardon the pun) be 'minimalist' . Silver jewelry is more natural looking than flashy gold bling. Always look for good quality sterling silver or white gold; avoid cheap knock-off junk or costume jewelry. Cheap jewelry can cause skin rashes and allergic reactions. It also doesn't hold up to soaps, lotions, hand sanitizer or styling products. Silver jewelry also tends to cause fewer allergic reactions than gold jewelry.

-silver thumb ring: Thumb rings are edgy and seductive. If you have nice masculine hands, it doesn't have to be a small band. Go for a chunky man-sized ring like Johnny Depp often sports.

-silver first finger ring: First finger rings are erotic.

-tiny silver hoop earring

-silver Claddaugh ring: the Irish wedding ring with two hands clasping a heart, surmounted by a crown is an attractive piece of jewelry for men and women. The position in which the ring is worn indicates the wearer marital status and availability for a relationship. See my article on Claddaugh rings for details.

-heavy leather cord or hemp bracelet

-heavy leather or hemp ankle bracelet; otherwise known as 'surfer' bracelets.

-ear cuff

-silver crucifix, Star of David or other religious symbols worn on plain silver chain. Let me make one distinction: Any religious symbol should be worn only for religious purposes. It is sacrilegious in any faith to wear a religious symbol of a faith that you don't follow or simply for ornamentation.

-knotted cord or hemp choker style necklace with cowrie shells, chunky metal accessories and funky beads. I found an awesome necklace for my son with a large turquoise stone carved like a scarab beetle. Do be careful with hemp, rope or cord accessories; they can cause skin rashes and chafing.

-toe rings; these are super sexy.

Tacky, non-sexy jewelry

- earring with large rhinestone stud

-gold necklace. For example, collar open to reveal delicate necklace festooned over frothy chest hair is an abomination.

-multiple rings on one hand. More than two is too many.

-rings with large ostentatious gems, faux or real

-metal bracelet. Typically goes with heavy tan, dyed, thinning hair and a comb-over.

-fashion or costume gold jewelry

-jewelry with phallic symbols, vulgar words, or obscene images. Nothing kills the attractiveness more quickly than wearing a billboard for pornography.

-pinky rings. I don't think I even need to elaborate on this one.

-high school class ring. Buddy, if you're in twenties and still wearing your class ring, it's time to retire it. College, fraternal or military rings are different. Those can tastefully be worn all your life.

And remember this, guys: the sexiest of men are those who are confident, clean and caring. The best accessory to wear is your beautiful smile. For more on sexiness and intimacy, visit me at www.onintimacy.blogspot.com.

Personally, I enjoy seeing a hairy arm with a gold nameplate bracelet adorning the wrist. Now, a class ring can be in good taste, esp for those who might not have gone beyond graduating high school. In this day and age high school grads have accomplished a good thing. And those durn rings cost an arm and a leg!

Nothing but a wedding band, for me.
