A Commercial Myth
What is sexy about being forty? Despite the "life begins at forty" psycho-babble blah blah (another myth, if you ask me), when a man is forty, he is... well, forty. What is sexy about being 6ft. 2in tall? In the sea of guys, some of which are, not only younger but taller, (and are paid even more just to shoot baskets! Ohhhhh my knees are already weak thinking of all that dough ). What is jaw-dropping (as claimed by his female co-star who used to have a shorter-than-her husband) about Hugh Jackman, who is the 2008 Sexiest Man Alive?
Here's what:
He made my jaw drop when I read that he is married for twelve years, to the same woman! That is something in Hollywood where marriages just last for days. (Remember Britney's?). He made my knees turn to jell-o upon reading further that he has two kids, a boy, who is eight and a girl, who is three. Their Dad sings ballad and made them pancakes! In today's world, where most Dads must rush to join the eight to five crowds, that is something. Lucky kids...
His bed and bedroom performances aside, this sexiest man alive is only truly admirable, not only because of his many talents, but also, even more, because of his real life "roles" which is that of being a husband and a father. These are manly roles which really matter in this life.
Here's KUDOS to this year's sexiest man alive! May he hold on to his "Jen" and may he never succumb to the tempting pouts of the "Angies" out there.
Other than the foregoing, this sexiest man alive bull@#$ is just a commercial myth, perpetrated to help sell more copies of a particular magazine.

Well, a ploy to sell magazines or not - I can totally go for Hugh! He's gorgeous. Just look at that photo. But beside being a movie star, not many people know how talented he is as a musical actor. His voice is incredible. He recently starred on stage in a revival of Oklahoma! Let's hope his devotion to his family can withstand temptation from the groupies and his female co-stars, as you said.
He is such a versatile actor with a super sense of humor :)
