Sexy Hairstyles for Shoulder Length Hair: Quick & Easy for the Woman on the Go

Shoulder Length Hairstyles to Take Your from Work to Play

Tamara McRill
Women often cut their hair to shoulder length to combine business-like function with the sex appeal of longer hair. They want their hair to have modern style, but do not want to spend hours primping in front of the mirror. Here are three quick and easy hairstyles for shoulder length hair, that will carry busy women through work, casual and formal situations.

Low Ponytail for Shoulder Length Hair

A ponytail is one of the quickest and easiest ways to keep hair restrained, while on the go. Avoid high and mid ponytails, which can look young girlish and too casual. Go for a low ponytail, which will appear efficient, yet feminine.

If your hair is frizzy, lightly mist with a smoothing spray. Brush hair and part slightly off center. This looks more stylish and sophisticated than a center part. Loosely gather hair at the base of your neck and fast with a hair tie or simple barrette.

Straight Shoulder Length Hair

Straight shoulder length hair works great for all occasions. It has the finish needed to look stylish, but hair is not long enough for it to look fussy.

Straightening shoulder length hair will only take five minutes, especially if you use a fast heating straightening iron. Run a tiny dollop of straightening cream through your locks, avoiding the scalp. This will prevent your hair from looking too greasy.

Using the straightening iron, run it through inch wide sections of your hair. Go for a looser straight, as opposed to stick straight strands. This will keep the look more modern. If you do not want to let hair hang loose, lightly slide in a headband.

Curly Half Up Style for Shoulder Length Hair

Curly hair that is not too wild or tightly curled is a very versatile look for busy women. It is often the best hair style to work with, if you are going from work to an event or date.

Using fat hot rollers, quickly roll dry hair. Let the curls set, while you are putting on makeup or gathering work items. After ten minutes, take the rollers out. Be careful not to pull on your hair, so curls stay intact. Lightly shake your head, to fluff curls out. Running your thumbs behind your ears, loosely gather half your hair up. Fasten with a barrette, making sure you have volume at your crown. Do not place the barrette too high, to avoid looking dated. lightly mist with a holding spray.

To go out that night, take the barrette out of your hair. Lightly toss to regain volume. If you are going out on a date, fluff hair slightly, for a loose sexiness.

For a business function, take out barrette and toss for volume. Then follow the directions for the low ponytail.
