Sexy Superheroine Costumes for Halloween & Other Nights in Need of Crime Fighting

Be You Wonder Woman, Supergirl or Batgirl - Halloween Night's Alright for Fighting

Wonder Woman. Supergirl. Batgirl. Growing up, we girls wanted to be any or all of these sexy superheroines. Whether it's the spandex, the cool superpowers or the chance of romancing a superhero you're after, Halloween costumes allow us to be any superheroine we desire to be. At least for a day. However, the trick to being a successful superheroine this Halloween season isn't just finding the right costume, but also wearing the right attitude along with it. Here are a few tips from one superheroine to another:

If you look uncomfortable in your costume, others are going to be uncomfortable around you. Being a superheroine takes confidence. After all, you're not just looking sexy, you're supposed to be fighting crime, right? You've got to feel sexy in your new alter ego's skin if you want to look sexy. Otherwise, you'll simply look like a girl who's been caught outside in her underoos.

Buy the right size costume. This isn't the time to kid yourself by buying a costume that's two sizes too small for you. These costumes are going to show every imperfection if you let them and the way you accomplish this faux pas is by buying the wrong size costume. Luckily, most costume retailers carry plus size costumes for you wannabe superheroines out there, so there's no reason you can't be true to yourself and your alter ego.

Buy the right shoes. No self-respecting superheroine would dare walk out the door in her spandex and a pair of flats. Get the boots or your name isn't Wonder Woman! Finding boots can be tricky, but many online shoe outlets carry just the right boot for your needs and with a proper boot cover, you'll be looking like the swank superheroine you were born to be.

Make-up and hair make the superwoman. Superheroines are inked to perfection, so it only makes since that you should paint in the lines for your night of crime fighting. Accentuate your eyes with a bit of dark eyeliner, line those lips with the right shade of red and contour those cheeks with the right shade of blush (don't over do it!). With the right make-up, you'll be looking like you stepped right out of the pages of a hot comic book.

Last, but not least, become your character. Wonder Woman is a strong, confident superheroine, so if you're donning the star spangled costume, you're going to want to look like you can take on the world (after all, it is waiting for you). Catwoman is, well, catty, sexy and mischievous. Swish those hips and make a lasting impression.

Being a superheroine isn't for the weak-hearted. Make up your mind to be the character you want to be and embody that character down to the way you make eye contact with that guy dressed like a Jedi. His Jedi mind tricks will be no match for your sexy superpowers.

  • Buy the right size costume or don't buy one at all.
  • Buying the costume isn't the end of the transformation. Become your character.
  • Forrest might not think they'd be comfortable shoes, but get the boots or else!
In the early 70s, DC Comics stripped Wonder Woman of her powers and her costume (down, boy). Gloria Steinem, a feminist icon herself, rebuked DC and Wonder Woman's powers and costume were restored.

I always thought the Scarlet Witch was the sexiest superheroine. The fact that she could love and care for an android (Vision) lent much to her allure and was psychologically intriguing... Wonder Woman never appealed to me as a superheroine, just as a sexy woman (aided, I'm sure, by Lynda Carter to some extent)...
