You're a statue finely chiselled,
Cold, quiet, beautiful,
Guarded, a prized treasure
I'm not allowed to touch.
You're silent, a slippery silhouette
In the corner of my eye.
Vanish when I turn,
I know you're still there,
Even if you've lost your tongue.
You're a slumbering spirit,
An unbreakable sentinel
A font of words shackled tight.
Wake me when you want to live.
