Shade Tree

Coffee Mugg

Sitting under a shade tree,
On a sunny Sunday morn,
Thinking of you, I start to mourn,
Why does it have to be this way,
It was so beautiful, Why want you stay?

The dreams we had, sweet memories made
Now all withered as if decade.
Life will go on, without you in it,
But breaks my heart, each waking minute.

I must go on, for there's others that care
Now to find them, where oh where
This has to be true, I must forget about you,
And start my life with someone new.

Someone that will really love,
Someone that will really care,
Someone that will give her heart
Someone that will not despair
And will dread the time we are apart

She will want to be with me , as much as she can,
Showing her love to no other man.
I must find her, but where to look.
Maybe under a cook book.
Resting her eyes,
Getting ready for a surprise.

I will put my mind to it,
Is the only way to get through it.
But alas, what am I thinking,
Not of the past, not of drinking.

For is she that I love,
Like nobody else.

I like the comment under mine. I'd try to rhyme, but I'd just whine. This poem is stupendous, fine!

I read your poem and your mind,
These are sensitive and very much kind.

I love the cook book part! In my head, I saw a sleepy, yet lovely lady just waiting for you! Hurrah again! I kneel in your poetic presence this time! Great!!!!!!
