SHADOWS and FLAME
Fantasy Poem
Out in the forest and out of sight,
What is that flare - that dancing light-
Shadows and flame!
What stands over there among those trees?
Buzzing around like a hive of bees-
Looking at me as if he sees-
The shadows and flame!
Halt! He is coming this way-
What do I do? What can I say?
He is so handsome, it drives me insane -
And into the shadows and flame!
And now he speaks with voice so soft,
I feel as though I'm up in a loft-
And I see-all around me-
Those shadows and flame!
He speaks to me of love so true-
I hope in my heart that I'll never rue-
The day I met him while feeling blue,
Walking in shadows and flame!
