Amitabh conducted the show in his own inimitable style of rendering dialogue in baritone voice like 'Lock kiya jaye', which went to become became household phrase. KBC shown in Star Plus was first aired in the nineties. It was inspired and based on super hit show aired in western country 'Who Wants to Be a Millionaire '. It is basically a quiz program wherein one has to choose one of the multiple answers to a question asked and get rewarded to big prize money.
The Indian show was a run away hit and topped the ratings through out its running. Amitabh Bachchan was able to bring in his irresistible charm into the small screen. Undoubtedly the show KBC became synonymous with Amitabh.
When it was known that the third part of the show KBC this time will not be anchored by Amitabh, many of them were disappointed. SRK going to replace the legendary Amitabh became the most talked about subject in the film industry and also among film fans.
Though no one had any doubt about the capability of SRK, the upper most concern in the minds of the fans were whether SRK would be able to live up to the standard and expectation brought out by Amitabh in KBC.
The KBC show with SRK was launched with galore pre-publicity blitz as expected by the India's top Television Channel the Star TV. This week when for the first time SRK appeared on KBC3 show, the whole nation was glued to their television. SRK without wasting any time got into anchor's role with ease and pomp. His flamboyant style was very much in evident though out the show, throwing his childish smile and breaking into shrill voice. The new phrase is 'freeze kiya jaye' for locking the answer into the computer.
His sense of humour came into play intermittently. He went out of the way in putting the candidate in ease by cracking jokes and at times massaging their shoulders to bring down their nervousness. SRK's big heartedness was in display when he gifted his expensive Tag Heuer watch to one of the loser. It is reported that another Bollywood star Salman Khan had suggested this idea which he willingly responded.
He succeeded in bringing up the suspense and drama during the question hours, the main ingredient of KBC show. The press and channels heaped lavish praise for SRK in ably managing the show. SRK in his new avatar in anchor role will lead the KBC3 show to new heights.

Post a CommentKING KHAN ROCKS KBC3
marvellous article 100 times better than rediff.good going-:)
I AM NOT READY FOR ANY SORT OF COMPARISONS THIS TIME BECAUSE I THINK EVERY TIME A COMPARISON IS PUT FORTHE,KING KHAN HAS JUST TORMENTED IT WITH HIS UNPARRALLEL TALENT.THIS KBC IS THE BEST OF ALL TIMES AND IT HAS KING KHAN WHICH IS MORE THAN ENOUGH TO MAKE THE BACCHANS BACCHA.
I think SRK was the right man for the host of KBC3! His sometimes pagal personality is just what the show needed. Not the Amitji did a bad job by any means, but it was time for a change. It reminds me of the changing winds at Gurkal in the Shah Rukh/Amitabh starrer 'Mohabbatein'. ;-)
