Shain Park in Birmingham to get makeover

Mark Vansetti
Shain Park in Birmingham will soon be home to some new play equipment from Landscape Structures Inc. The equipment and other improvements to the park will cost about $80,000, which will come from the Capital Projects Fund. From the description submitted to the City Commission, the park will look quite different after construction.

The play area will include slides, swings, ladder, tunnels and a log stepper. Even the color used for the equipment will complement the park furnishings such as benches and planters. The play equipment is very modern-looking, as are the benches and waste cans, which are made of a dark wood. Majestic planters shaped like pillars will decorate the remodeled park and play equipment.
