Shakers Lounge Review: Fun and Friendly Club!

Most of the people who live in the Altamonte Springs, Casselberry, or Winter Park areas of central Florida are very content with their location. These areas have many places to keep you occupied, but one thing they have lacked for a long time is a fun club to go dance at! Altamonte Springs does contain the legendary "Why Not" Lounge, which offers a fun dance party on the weekends, although, this joint is often overcrowded and "bunched up." In years past, if you didn't want to shake it down at the Why Not Lounge, you would most likely have to drive to downtown Orlando to find a club. The drive to downtown Orlando from these areas is actually not very long; however, it would still be nice to have something a little closer and a little more convenient. Well, that place has finally arrived. It's called SHAKERS!

Shakers is located in Casselberry (1385 State Road 436, Casselberry, FL 32707) and is at the exact location where the Bennigans was located before the restaurant was painfully shut down. Unlike downtown Orlando, this club offers free and plentiful parking, clean bathrooms, a spotless dance floor, a short wait time for drinks, and a spacious setting, thus allowing you to dance and roam around without the fear of knocking someone's drink over. You may have to occasionally pay a cover of around $3, but that is a small price to pay for the atmosphere that this building provides. The drinks are priced fairly, as your average beer will be $3 and your average mixed drink will go for around $4.

Another refreshing part of this club is the fact that is open to all ages. This is the kind of place that a 55-year-old can blend in just as easily as a 21-year-old . . . and the music applies to many ages, as well-majority of the music is top 40, from the 80's to current day, as they play anything from Madonna, to M.C. Hammer, to Lady Gaga. You'll even hear the fun-filled Cupid Shuffle, which always seems to quickly fill up the dance floor. In addition to the DJ music, Shakers offers live bands on varying nights!

If by chance you are exhausted from too much dancing, Shakers has a nice little area with comfortable leather couches to take a breather on! You can chill out for a minute while gazing at the beautifully decorated interior, watching others boogie down, and checking out the numerous hi-def screens that display the music videos of the songs being played. Or you can just chit chat with your friends, which is much easier to do in this club since you don't have to shout at the top of your lungs to speak to somebody that is only one foot away from you!

The vibe that this club creates is "classy, yet simple fun." The people that come here don't try to act overly cool or suave, or too good for their own shadow-the people here just want to laugh, get down, have a drink, and have a hell of a time . . . all without the typical chaos of a downtown atmosphere.
