I always have people ask me what shampoo I use and comment on how good my hair smells. So if you are looking for an inexpensive hair product with a great scent, consider one of these.
Oh, and here's a tip: For an extra long lasting scent, be sure to leave the conditioner in your hair for at least 5 minutes to let the fragrance really set in. This will help keep your hair smelling good most of the day.
Herbal Essence brand - Citrus Lift scent
Both the shampoo and conditioner smell like a tantalizing mixture of fresh ripe mango and grapefruit. The aroma is wonderfully refreshing and your entire bathroom will smell fantastic while you wash your hair.
The shampoo is great for everyday use because it's not harsh. The conditioner is lightweight and will not leave a greasy residue in the hair.
Some of the more noteworthy ingredients in the shampoo are hydrolysed wheat protein and wheat starch for better penetration, and cetyl and stearyl alcohol to hold in moisture. Both the shampoo and conditioner have tangerine, lemongrass, and aloe as ingredients, making them excellent organically scented choices.
White Rain brand - Lavender Vanilla scent
As you would expect, these products smell like lavender and vanilla. Although I did smell more vanilla than lavender. If you have some lavender essential oil you can add a tiny dash to the shampoo and conditioner to give them a more powerful scent. I would not suggest adding too much though because it could leave your hair too oily.
The shampoo is gentle and is safe for everyday use. It cleans the hair thoroughly and has a nice thick lather. The conditioner has a thick creamy texture and does a great job detangling the hair.
The shampoo contains Water; Ammonium Laureth Sulfate; Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate; Cocamidopropyl Betaine; Ammonium Chloride; PEG-7 Glyceryl Cocoate; Polyquaternium-7; PEG-150 Distearate; Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Flower Extract; Vanilla Planifolia Fruit Extract; Passiflo.
The ingredients in the conditioner are Water; Cetyl Alcohol; Dicetyldimonium Chloride; Lavandula Angustifolia Flower Extract; Vanilla Planifolia Fruit Extract; Passiflora Edulis Flower Extract; Mentha Piperita Leaf Extract; Rosa Centifolia Flower
Suave brand - Green Apple scent
Yep, you guessed it - both the shampoo and conditioner smell like a fresh ripe green apple. The scent isn't syrupy sweet like some of the "red" apple scents can be. This is more of a warm tart apple smell that permeates the entire bathroom while you wash your hair.
The shampoo has a nice rich lather and leaves hair squeaky clean. It will remove product build-up such as gunky hairspray, so it is a bit harsh for everyday use. The conditioner is creamy and helps control frizz. It rinses out well and does not weigh hair down.
The shampoo contains Water, Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate, Ammonium Laureth Sulfate, Ammonium Chloride, Tocopheryl Acetate, Apple (Pyrus Malus) Extract, Cocamide MEA, Fragrance, PEG-5 Cocamide, Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose, Tetrasodium EDTA, DMDM Hydantoin, Benzophenone-4, Citric Acid, Propylene Glycol, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone, Glycerin, FD&D Yellow No. 5, FD&C Blue No. 1.
The ingredients in the conditioner are Water, Cetearyl Alcohol, Distearyldimonium Chloride, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Cetrimonium Chloride, Disodium EDTA, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone, DMDM Hydantoin, Citric Acid, Fragrance, Potassium Chloride, FD&C Blue No. 1, D&C Yellow No. 10.
