The store has an attractive front with large windows on each side of the door. They have displays in the windows. Generally the left hand display has different books shown and the other side has misc. items. When I was there the right hand display window had stuff for the 4th of July. There is a large sign with the store name at the top of the store so if you're driving by, you'll be able to find the store easily.
Upon entering the store, you'll see clothes on the left hand side. A little further along is the cash register where you pay for your finds. Combined with that is a jewelry counter with other small misc. knick knacks.
Further down the left hand side of the store is the book, magazine, and tape area. Their books are individually priced. Most children's books are .50 cents, adult books are .50 cents for mass market size paperbacks, $1.50 for trade size paperbacks and $1.95 for hard covers. Sometimes Shamrock Thrift has a box set out that is full of books that are half price. As an avid book lover, the book area is usually where I head to first.
Further down the left hand side of the store are other knick knacks and at the back of the store and middle back is bedding, electronics, etc.
The right hand side of the store has several more racks of clothing. Items are at the very top of the racks such as toys, dolls, etc. The right hand wall of the store has tons of misc. items like dishes, cutesy items and more.
This is my second favorite thrift store to stop at in Grover Beach (my first favorite being California Cool which is just down the road). On certain days they have sales. I was also here in late March/Early April and they had a 10% off sale so everything I bought was 10% off.
I don't usually find a whole lot here but I always walk away with several books and sometimes other items.
The prices are moderate and comparable to other thrift stores in the area. The service has been wonderful every time I've been in. Very nice ladies work in the store.
They are also part of the Shop & Dine Program which is a program where you shop at local participants and collect chances to win gift certificates. If you live in the area, you pick up a Shop & Dine thank you card, fill it out and you get a chance to win a gift certificate from a local store. Winners are announced monthly. You can find out more information here.
St Patrick's School Shamrock Thrift Shop is located at 924 W Grand Ave, Grover Beach, CA 93433-2136. For more information, call (805) 481-0612. They are open from 10 AM to 4 PM.
